if you got a PSN game of your choosing every month, i would probably sign up.
getting to 'choose' 4 free titles every month, from a list of only 4 (big lol at that) titles (1 PSN, 2 Minis, 1 PSOne) means you'll just be getting bargain bin rubbish titles every month. i dont want to pay $70 a year for games i dont want, so i wont be signing up.
and minis? does anyone even care about them? maybe if there were demos of them people might, but no way am...
it depends what you classify as 'Bullshot'.
to me, a bullshot is anything other than 100% in-game graphics. replay mode is NOT in-game graphics, so posting it as a screenshot is misleading. a misleading screenshot is a bullshot.
granted, nearly every developer adds at least AA to their officially released screenshots - which is why i pay no attention to them. the only screens that are indicative of in-game are those that are captured directly from th...
@MexicanAppleThief:
no, Replay mode uses higher LOD car models than the in-game ones. every GT game has done this since GT1, and GT5 is no exception.
also, replay mode adds far more post-processing effects than just motion blur and AA, hence the drop from 60fps to 30fps. and no, it doesnt use 16xMLAA in-game OR in replay mode.
and LOLconsoles is right about 1080p - these consoles cannot do 1080p in 3D for anything other than the most basic ar...
if you count 32 versions of R32-R34 skylines as 32 different cars then sure, youll get 600 that you didnt get to race in Forza 3.
but if like any sane person you just count the R32 GT-R, R33 GT-R and R34 GT-R as one car each, youre gonna end up with more or less the same amount of cars in GT5 as there are in Forza 3. PD have already confirmed 30+ RX7s, 30+ Skylines, 20+ Lancer Evolutions and 20+ WRXs. that right there is 100 of the 1000 cars, but only actually about 20 really...
personally im happy that Xbox Live is a closed system. it means that everything across the whole platform is uniform in design and how it works.
and not caring in the slightest about MMOs, not having MMOs on the 360 doesnt bother me. and even if i did like them, id just get them on my PC or PS3.
bubbles to you XboxOZ360, very very well said.
anyone that refers to themselves as a 'core' or 'hardcore' gamer is precisely the type of person the video game industry can do without. they think theyre better than little jimmy down the road who just buys games to have fun instead of ranting about how console x is better than console y because game a is 720p while game b is 'only' 719p.
Move and Kinect, but more so Kinect, are NOT aimed...
thats great, but im quoting what sonys legal team have said. i take their word over some sony rep any day of the week.
this is the agreement that you sign when you sign in to PSN, not what some sony rep said. the agreement states that you may lose all rights to the games if your subscription lapses even for 1 minute, so theres a very high probability that this will happen. why? because sony like money, and making you pay to re-download everything gets them more money.
@acky1: theoretically that could be a problem, but Kinect knows that your leg is forward instead of straight down - it wouldnt think that forward is now the default position. it doesnt just take your position when you first step in front of the camera as 'default'.
if you hold A while turning on a game, does the game then figure that holding down A is the default so you now have no way of pressing the A button in the game?
same principle.
the forza demo that was shown had no way of braking and accelerating, all you could do was steer and it did the rest for you - like playing with all the assists on in Forza 3.
but remember, one of the very first natal demos was Burnout Paradise - you moved your foot forward to accelerate, or moved it backwards to brake, and from all reports it worked well. so its not like it cant be done, they just didnt do it for the forza demo.
it has been confirmed time after time that you can use natal sitting down. how can people still not understand this. the camera detects your body, and if it can see your knees up where your waist usually is it will figure out that youre sitting down. Microsoft did million and millions of man-hours of data crunching 'teaching' Kinect how the human body can move, so sitting down sure as hell isnt going to make it fall over and die.
also, in this very video - if you care...
@bjornbear,
read what Anon7349 said: "I can understand not need a 360, because PC plays all the 360 games but better, and any console exclusives can be played on the PS3"
i just listed a few great highly acclaimed 360 games that CANNOT be played on a PC, nor on a PS3.
and so what if Dead Rising 2 is on PS3? Dead Rising 2 is not Dead Rising, its the sequel. thats like saying that because the 360 got FF13 that its got FF12.
...
Hows Gears of War 2 going for you on PC? how about Forza 2? Forza 3? Alan Wake? Dead Rising? Fable 2? Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts?
@thehitman,
please, tell my why you think that the PS3 having bluetooth is such a big important feature.
would the controllers not work on wifi? nope, theyd work exactly the same.
would the remote not work on wifi? nope, itd work exactly the same.
would the headset not work on wifi? nope, itd work exactly the same.
bluetooth is just a different form of wifi. is it better? not really. is it worse? not really. its just differen...
ive got both consoles, and anyone thats played both online would know that the quality of headsets online on the PS3 is absolutely rubbish.
and like you said, the 360 doesnt have bluetooth, so why is it not having bluetooth a problem? why does it need bluetooth when its controllers are the more reliable and cheaper wifi?
my 360 is connected via HDMI and ive never had any handshake problems.
@Jamie Foxx:
the playing field is leveled out because both the PS3 and 360, in their top of the range models, are around the same price.
it doesnt matter if the 360 doesnt have blu-ray because no 360 games are on blu-ray and its not a blu-ray player. it doesnt matter if it doesnt have HDMI 1.3 because nothing it does (or the PS3) needs HDMI 1.3. it doesnt matter if its got bluetooth or not because nothing on the 360 uses bluetooth.
no, read the terms and conditions of Playstation Plus. I read them thoroughly.
there are 2 tiers of PS+ content. the first tier is stuff you get to keep if your subscription terminates. this includes:
Avatar pictures
XMB Themes
the second tier is stuff that you lose your rights to once your subscription runs out, and you may also lose all rights to it even if you renew your subscription.
this tier includes:

lol at the disagrees with not even so much as a response. ahhhh sony fanboys, gotta *love* them.
Alan Wake is hands down one of the best games ive played in years. The graphics are just superb, you never once even notice that its not 720p because it just looks incredible. the lighting and atmostpheric effects have to be seen to be believed.
cant wait for the downloadable episodes, and cant wait for a sequel. anyone who doesnt play this game is missing out.
a few things i took from this interview:
1. unlockables in multiplayer:
"That said, if you're making a multiplayer shooter right now, you very much need to have a ranking system, experience points and things to unlock to keep players invested in your games for months on end."
2. Character customization:
"Can't talk about it yet. It'd be a good idea!"
3. Drop-in, drop-out 4 play...
no, DICE are actually making the multiplayer component of the game.
2 different developers are making the 2 different portions, single player and multiplayer.
