Super deserved, though it would have been great to see a little guy win. I'm of course referring to Firewatch.
Now that all the bad hype has died down, it's so great to see how much this game is valued in the community. What a great thing.
I keep waiting for a great headset. This might FINALLY fit the bill.
@Errorist76: for one thing, GTA V which I have a history with and plenty of hours in. Mafia III is another one, not to mention all the plethora of other titles. They don't need to be open-world games to be enjoyable and worth playing over this one.
@ Deadpooled - Traditionally, $10 might seem high, but with a huge franchise like Mario, it is expected, indeed. Minecraft Pocket Edition is up there, and it's been fluctuating between the 1 and 5 spot on the Top Paid Games for months.
Much lower than a lot of people expected! Free to try out, a single in-game purchase lets you buy the whole thing. That's a killer model for a company that wants to be kid-friendly and not gouge parents.
In a vacuum, maybe Watch Dogs 2 is a better game. In a world where Grand Theft Auto V is as fantastic as it is, not to mention the fact that it came out three years ago, that's not the case. Also, the sequel didn't go above and beyond the original game in enough ways to make it relevant again. There are plenty of other games worth playing that aren't this.
Really? The game looks so good!
Best. Puns. Ever.

Not very often that the original game which was so well made and successful is the lowest on the list, but it's such a testament to the quality of the games going forward.
I still can't get excited about this game :S
It would be beneficial to let go of the preconceived notions of console cycles and treat the console more similarly to a phone, tablet, or computer. The closest comparison is a PC; they'll run the same games, but at different quality levels. Xbox One will run a game at Medium or High while Scorpio likely runs it on Ultra settings, or some equivalent of that. The user will never have to fuss with any of these settings, but that is the closest comparison.
Didn't you just say that its the size of the Skyrim map to make a point that map size does matter? Seems like you think it's a pi$$ing contest ;)
It's about not spoiling the game. They want to show a lot, but they've held back on key story points and activities so that you get the joy of discovering themselves. All too often, a game is shown off in such great detail that it almost fatigues the gamer before the title comes out, then it isn't even something they want to pick up. Here's hoping for a very slow trickle of information over the next six to ten months, assuming the game comes out in March.
Agreed - how they manage to keep making these games when they could focus on better franchise expansions. Hell, make more 3D Land levels with the team that just spent months making another Mario Party game.
That box art is so perrrrty.
Right?! That Guardian is massive!!
Let's hope to the Zelda overlords (Aonuma, Miyamoto) let it be any trees! Give Link an axe!!
Some rumours do come true!
That just means it'll look EVEN BETTER on Switch!! <3
