I agree with the article almost 100%. I liked RE4 a lot. But as I played through the game I kept thinking, where are the zombies? where is Umbrella? it's only a matter of time until they rear their ugly head...Never came.

They should make another 2D Castlevania game similar to Symphony of the Night gameplay with updated graphics, new story/characters, more items, and bigger castle (if that were even possible). I know I would buy that in a millisecond.
Aren't most pre-order specials that aren't packaged with the game usually limited to "while supplies last".
Secondly he complains that you don't get the remote control tank until the release date...in my experience most pre-order 'rewards' aren't given out until the release day anyways (unless it's a demo or beta code).

I grew up playing NES, Genesis and SNES games that were sometimes very friggin difficult.

Seriously...how long did it take to transition from VHS to DVD? It took time. The transition will happen faster as HD tv sets become cheaper and more people own them.
No matter what...people will always like to have a hard copy of stuff. I know hard drives are actually better, but people still love to actually physically own something. Furthermore, as much as I hate to say it, most people probably couldn't even figure out (or willing to find out) how to use a hard drive as their main form of media.
There are a couple of holes in your argument.
First of all, if the Nintendo releases a Wii 2 that has the same graphics as ps3/xbox360 and 1080p output in 5 years at $249, what will that be? It will be 7 year old technology copied from ps3 and 360, not actually impressive at all. Furthermore, I imagine in 5 years, when you propose the wii 2 would come out, the 360 and ps3 will probably be about equivalent or lower price. And I am EONS from getting a majority of those trophies. Seriously, 20 perfect zones in a row? Completing 75 zones? I can't even imagine doing some of these. Ugh.
I usually don't get into racing games. But it was a reasonable price so I gave it the dl.
Needless to say I've played the game about 3 times since yesterday when I got it, and every time turned into a 3 hour session where I was trying to get all the gold medal for a stage/event in the campaign mode. It just sucks my time up without me even knowing it while I'm having a good time. That is my definition of a good game.

This game looks fun. I'll most definitely pick it up for my psp whenever it comes stateside.
I downloaded it and was gonna go watch My Name is Earl and The Office, but I said I just wanted to see what Wipeout HD was like before I watch the shows.
Needless to say, just seeing what it's like turned into 3 hours of Wipeout and like 6 trophies. I can't wait to play some more.

They are using a legitimate sales technique. Hook uneducated consumers or consumers low on cash with the lower initial cost and then incur other optional costs over the lifetime of the product. That way if that consumer who purchased it wants to expand on their system, they can purchase the add ons (usually at a heftier price than they would pay for them in the package).
So although Microsoft's technique on slashing the prices and making the Arcade the attractive choice may not...
But I loved that game. I used to whoop on my friends with Fett's triple backhand combo. That's actually one of my favorite fighting games.
It's a sin that this list doesn't have X-Wing or Tie Fighter on it.
I'd also argue that the list should include Shadows of the Empire for the N64, perhaps by favorite Star Wars game after Tie Fighter and Jedi Knight...
Make it 2d with awesome 2D 1080p quality and follow the gameplay element of Symphony of the Night with a bigger castle, more playable characters, and more weapons/items and I will be in heaven. I've been saying they should do this on every Castlevania thread I've seen for a while, if they follow a 2d Symphony of the Night blueprint I will be on cloud 9.
