Sorry man. I wanted to love it, I loved Infinite and I loved the Original, but I just couldn't. It wasn't bad, it was just meh and I've come to expect better.

Great article and I agree, I laughed my arse off when I first saw Zoo Tycoon on the launch day line-up and now it's a definite purchase for me.
Out of all the drama with DRM and what not, this really was the biggy. Always online was undefendable.

The main problem with 4 was the multiplayer balance. Everyone having DMR access from the get go turned it into a COD type game, where getting the drop on someone was game over. Halo 3 gave you time to get away/even the odds. Halo 4 was just bang bang dead.
The campaign was great though.
Forza is free with mine, DR3 and Ryse are day one purchases for me.

I'd say the strongest boss fights I've seen recently were in the otherwise mediocre Arkham Origins. Each boss had their own style and felt like more of a test of skill than a dude with a ton of health.
People need to drop this assumption that anything under 7/10 is terrible.
I've had great fun on some 4/10 scoring games, but that doesn't mean they deserve to score any higher.
Invent something cool and it will score well. Expand on it and it will score well. Just rehash it and add nothing of value and it will score less well. I'm still playing this now doing all the side quests and when I'm done I'll dive right back in for New Game Plus a...

fair score. It's not a bad game by any strecth of the imagination, but it does very little new and feels very fan servicey.
I'm guessing Rocksteady didn't want to mess it up, so they didnt change anything out of fear.
I played it back in July and it seemed pretty solid back then. Admittedly it was only a demo of one track with 2 cars to choose from, but I'd hardly say it sucked. Seemed just like Forza to me (and that's coming from someone in the xbox camp atm).
