they ended up including cross game voice chat in their "premium" service. It's taken them a while to get around to and I'm sure a few dollars in R & D. Considering the fact that so many people think it's one of the main feathers in LIVE's cap, I can imagine Sony putting that as one of the features of the "Premium" online component and leaving what we have now as the "core" online experience.
And I honestly don't see them "improving" t...
Of getting lost in the holiday shuffle. When people buy gifts for gamers (read: non-gamers/parents) they either buy what they know or what floor people will push on them (read: well established game franchises). With bigger games coming out, especially MW2, smaller games (maybe not small, just not blockbuster) have to worry a bit. If they can push it a few months where it's drier in terms of other games, their visibility is increased exponentially. I don't think it is at all indicative of...
So instead of that one liner, I hope my transforming PS3 doesn't say "Punk-ass decepticon" or "Any last words", whether that be said together or independent of one another. I'd also prefer if it didn't try to execute my Wii sitting next to my TV in a cool way only to mar it by saying something trite like "Damn I'm Good"...
"Any last words, punk-ass Decepticon?" Oh God, the Transformers all needed a Bumblebee treatment and get stuck communicating via radio in Transformers 2...or perhaps they would have just blared rap the whole time...sorry for that little tangent.
Yes, any PS3 optimization totally works for me. I love my black monolith and if the 2.8 update gave a difference like we saw between the pre-E3 and post E3 versions of the Uncharted 2 trailer (if the differences were in fact du...
Considering 'Eat Sleep Play' are a self claimed developer of "small-to-medium titles", I'm doubtful it will be something like Twisted Metal or God of War...but I can always hope. I'm interested in what it is, but I'm certainly keeping my expectations in check here.
Off Topic: I wouldn't call myself a grammar Nazi, but turning Spears' into Spears-es just boggles my mind. I couldn't bring myself to click the link to see what else this person did to the English language l...
I had a lengthy response going but what it boils down to is that it seems odd to include games like Dead Space, Mass Effect, and Mirrors Edge with the likes of Haze and Too Human. The games listed seemed too varied in quality and popularity, some of them seemed like genuine enough successes not to be mentioned and some of the reasoning seemed weak. On top of that, when I got to the end I felt it was rather pointless too...
Signing into the mall? I can go everywhere else, but as soon as I try to log into the mall, my PS3 freezes and I have to flip the power switch to reset it...am I the only unfortunate soul experiencing this?
I tried updating my system to this new firmware and was met with a 8002F1B0 error at 57%. I called tech support and my super helpful rep Cody says the only thing they can do is to CHARGE ME $149.00 for repairs...for something not only sanctioned by Sony, but REQUIRED to play new games or get online. It seems absolutely ludicrous to me that this is my only option considering I have taken nothing but the best of care of my system.
I understand that these things happen, but for God...
or any major media outlet for that matter. You know how the media loves to run sensationalist stories about violence and video games, regardless of how much of a stretch it really is.
but when I played the Madden demo it was outputting at 720p...I thought there was supposed to be parity between the 360 and PS3 this year. If I'm missing something, let me know here, but I have a feeling I'm not. I'd love to update to a new HDTV that supported 720 but I just don't have the dough right now, and games that are 1080 still look great on my good ol' CRT HDTV. There aren't any more excuses, practically any developer big or small should have their head wrapped around the PS3's ar...
What I saw when I watched that video was rather bland enemies that, if the gameplay is any indication of their AI, must take the short bus to baddie school everyday. Unfortunately the environments didn't help flesh anything out because they felt even blander.
Don't get me wrong, there were a few flashes of decent graphics and textures. However, it seemed, for the enemies at least, to follow the school of thought that "shine = good graphics". On the complete opposite e...
They have money problems, but they are accepting no more subscribers and those that are already playing get to play for free? I'm no businessman, but few customers and no money doesn't tend to work well in getting you out of the hole. I'm sure they know what they're doing...they do, don't they?
Sorry to say Old Snake, the video download service is (as of 9:30ish EST) still not up.
But yeah, there will be no PS3 love until the install base is large enough that they can't ignore it anymore (or perhaps if Sony makes the Dev Kits idiot proof). Orange Box on the PS3 sold so poorly because...drum roll...it was poorly done. Buggy, inferior games don't get much love from people (especially when you don't support it after you continually support the other version...new TF2 update I'm lookin at you.)
Oh well, Portal was fun. If I get an XBOX then I'll happily get...
Wow. That's a crushing loss for Sony. It's not really surprising given Square's financial problems as of late, but it is on the front that they have been cramming it down the media's throat for as long as they've been asked that it was PS3 exclusive. No "maybe", no "we don't comment". Nothing.
Hugh loss for Sony, I can't say it enough. Many people would have picked up a PS3 for this alone, and I know Sony doesn't buy exclusives, but they really should have ...
"All in all I was impressed but I was unimpressed by the new firmware update". Uh huh...so you don't really know what you thought of it?
You know what, I have a hard time taking people seriously when they write as poorly as this article was written. I don't know how I'm expected to give any credence to what is said when I'm getting stabbed in the eye every other sentence. All I have to say is, though it may sound stupid and picky to knock the writing, it makes me cri...
"The PS3's primary standby mode is super low energy. But if you want to access Remote Play (XMB, pictures, etc) through the PSP, it's suddenly sucking as much power as five refrigerators just sitting there."
If you turn on the wake-on-lan ability it's not just sitting on and it's not in the full blown, energy bill dominating fridge killer mode either. It's not as super low energy as primary standby, but it isn't *that* much more to have the wifi running.

Go under Settings and there is a Time and Date option where you can either change it manually, update via the web, or (and this is my guess) go to the last setting under Time and Date which should say Daylight Savings. I assume yours says Standard. Switch it to the other option and your clock should be right.
I can't say I remember running into any unacceptable level of screen tearing during my play-through though. Maybe I just didn't pick up on it, not really sure. If it did happen, it wasn't eye stabbingly jarring or anything.
On a side note, I wanted to play through Uncharted again, but now that I know Trophies are coming for it I'm waiting...Hurry up ND! I mean, take your time and get it right, but...ya know...hurry up! Please.
Oh, and as for the 1 GB install, I'...
I don't know if this is going to be the launch price, but historically Amazon has been pretty accurate. I think there are far too many variables right now between Kinect and Move: how each perform when launched, what titles they have, how they are taken advantage of, how many players can Kinect support at once - and on and on. I'm currently more interested in Move, but I'm definitely keeping an eye on Kinect as well.
Side note: I have to say I also find it inter...
