If you're open to these sort of experiences then you should try it out for sure. I personally love the game.

Your list doesn't do much for me. As a potential Vita buyer I am more leaning towards (in no order)...

1. Uncharted
2. Gravity Rush
3. Lumines
4. Mortal Kombat
5. Persona 4
6. Little Big Planet
7. Rayman

actually, if I throw in games like Sine Mora, Sound Shapes, Jet Set Radio, Oddworld etc I seem to wonder why I don't own a Vita yet.

I found them to be somewhat reliable. I mean, surely you can give or take with any score, but generally speaking the good games with a green tab next to them and are rated near 80 and above are probably worth playing to fans of the genres and the games that dip in to the 70's and lower and are shown with barely with green tabs, yellow tabs and red tabs are probably not worth your time.

Of course you take it with a grain of salt, but I find metacritic highly reliable (for ...

Its a reboot that didn't do much to cater to the previous fanbase. In theory this game had to make new fans so this game came in to the scene without a core fanbase.

The fans of the reboot went out on bought it so you can't blame them. I would say the core following for this rebooted franchise is now getting established. Is it lower than expected? In comparison to the previous DMC? Well Capcom shouldn't have rebooted the franchise then lol.

There is no doubt that EA are behind some of the most enjoyable experiences this gen. From popular games like Mass Effect, its sport franchises and Battlefield to racing games like Burnout and the reboot of Need for speed. Dead Space was a total shock and 1 & 2 turned out to be fantastic games. Also they have had some sleeper hits like Mirrors Edge and Reckoning.

Now I may not always agree with their business practices... heck as of late I can't tolerate EA... but the...

I want to see how they expand on PS+. It will be great if they can keep heading in the direction of play, create and share. Some sort of rewards for online purchases would be nice too (like club points you can then use to buy avatars, themes and fun stuff like that).

Sony for the most part has taken care of me this gen. They just need to expand on the current vibe I am getting from them and package it so the product sells to the masses.

Yes, it does. I actually used the DS Lite alarm clock to wake me up for work. I am a bit bummed the 3DS doesn't include one. I guess my phone will do.

Any Counter Strike this week? Haha, of course not!

Swallow a preserverd sample of Amy Winehouse's urine
Set my chest hair on fire with jet fuel
Have sexual relations with The Big Show
Bungee jump off a bridge with the chord attatched to my penis
Stick my head in a Lions mouth whilst resting my legs in a croc's mouth
Catch aids
Scoop my eyes out with a chainsaw
Stick a skateboard in the crack of my ass and use it ...

I need to find this "extensive and attractive game library". I own Mario 3D Land, Street Fighter and Zelda OOT. Nothing else on the system other than Resident Evil stands out to me. It seems all the games I wanted to succeed have generated generally negative responses. Kingdom Hearts, Paper Mario and Mario Bro's 2 have all generated a less than satisfying buzz for me than previously expected.

I can't say the PS Vita is much better. I don't own one, but ...

For the record guys... I do not support BNP. I am actually against BNP and racism in general. :-)

I just don't like genric PC rants. You seen one, you seen em all. (Same goes for any sort of generic rants).

I read the phrase "imminent masterpiece" and thought nothing of it. I read it as the author was intending to imply that sometime in the future we will reflect on Dark Souls as a masterpiece after it has stood the test of time (as in one day it will the title "masterpiece").

I think his use of the word was justified...

... but there still is the possibility you are correct in what you are saying lol.

Whenever someone asks me what my fave game of the generation is I always reply with Uncharted 2, Super Mario Galaxy and a few other titles. However, my play time on Dark Souls is quite high and is probably my most played game. I would have to say that it is probably my best game this gen (but Uncharted 2 is sooo awesome). The only thing I didn't like about the game is the fact that there isn't much need to invade people. In Demon's Souls I think they balanced the risk / reward for...

I think that DLC, Multiplayer, MMO's and the F2P format have all proven they can keep / regain interest in games. However, I think that games like Minecraft or Little Big Planet should have been mentioned. For me I think these games have by far the most interesting and creative ways to keep players interested. Minecraft is brilliant and gives you utter freedom. Weather you want to express yourself in creative mode or do it all in survival mode, you are given a whole lot of choice and ther...

Niko didn't grow up in America. (if your comment was aimed at me)

4761d ago 2 agree1 disagreeView comment

I kind of liked GTA4 for similar reasons. At first I was put off by Niko's nationality, but it really worked in the games favour as far as the story is concerned.

Well, you can't hold anything against the Americans of today for what happened back then. Your comparison is a bit off. You may want to compare current events with other current events next time.

Because if you look at the way IGN rate games you will find that a 7.8 would make it fall in the "good" category. If it was rated as an 8 it would be classed as a "great" game. It seems IGN thought this title was more worthy to be in the higher end of the good ratings than the lower end of the great ratings.
