Same. It is my most anticipated title of the year along with games like GTA5 and Bioshock. Naughty Dog have my total blind faith when it comes to games. All you have to say is "it's developed by Naughty Dog" and I will try it and most likely love it.
(not that I am a fanboy... I just believe in their ability to deliver)
Sleeping Dogs, Mass Effect 3, Infamous 2, Darksiders, Batman, Limbo and soon Okami... Yeah, I need to get these games finished lol Not enough hours in the day.
I'm a FF7 fan, but a HD remake is not the way to go. It hasn't aged nearly as well as other games in the franchise, has too many pointless mini games and generally would lose its charm if the character models were more realistic.
Too many great bosses. Perseus was a very cool boss in GodOW 2.
I have 2 copies. 1 of them is because I subscribed to a mag and the other was intended for my friend, but he didn't want it (he was selling his Gcube). It only cost me £10 at the game store pre-owned. No complaining here because he gave me Metroid Prime 2.
This has been my best generation and I have been gaming since the 16bit days. I must say that the last year has also been one of the worst years for me. Only a handful of titles truly appealed to me. 2011 was the best year I can recall in a long time. Funny how things switch up. 2013 looks set to amaze, but I can't help but feel that it will take me until next gen to get back in the swing of things. A lot of recent events and trends are causing me to hate gaming.
I haven't played the game yet, but your review seems very fair. I'm quite a big GodOW fan. I have played and enjoyed 1, 2, 3 and COO. The thing is I really can't seem to justify picking it up at full price since I feel I have had a very good run with the franchise and it just seems it has been wrapped up for me. I will eventually play it. Thank you for the review.
The 3D Mario games imo. Mario Sunshine was great, but I know I am a minority when it comes to this game. There is no denying that Galaxy was a true return to form and was absolutely brilliant. I also have no idea why Mortal Kombat is missing from the list. If any game defines a comeback it would be Mortal Kombat. The Killzone franchise also came in to this generation and smashed all expactations I had for it after its disappointing first outing on the PS2.
Usually my opinion is hated lol. I don't think Dave Mirra and WWF really define the PS1 as much as Soul Reaver or Syphon Filter etc, but they were just my childhood games. I felt they just fit in to "my" list rather than a list that defines Playstation.
There is usually one person who has to be like "omg, you put Dave Mirra over Abe, Soul Reaver, Syphon Filter, Rayman," etc etc.
I didn't see the point in the service, but as soon as IGC was released I signed up. Absolutely love it. I download all the games I already own and the Vita games just incase I need to use them in the future. I make the most out of my subscription in my current situation. Can't wait to get a Vita for the Vita games, though.
Oh, and cloud saving is amazing!
I loved Croc as a kid, but I have come to realise it is quite average. Weird looking back on games I loved as a kid through an adults eyes.
My opinion will be hated because I was a kid at the time, but these are the games for me.
Crash
MGS
Tomb Raider
Resident Evil
THPS
WWF
Tekken
Final Fantasy
Ape Escape
Dave Mirra
They are the games I used to play the most. They made the PS brand what it is FOR ME... not in general. I loved going through my extreme sports phase with the PS1 games.
"The worst game that I've ever played was Zelda."
/raises pitchfork
"the Zelda game I'm talking about wasn't even made by them."
/puts pitchfork down
@1nsaint
None of those games are the remakes / ports. They are all the original releases. I didn't include the IOS versions or anything like that. The "stories" titles are atand alone titles.
Well, since he is making his own rules, I decided to make mine. /s
I was just using stupid logic like the person who replied to me. Fact remains that GTA games have been pumped out in quick succession.
Okay, then. I'm just going to point out the fact that there has been no Call of Duty 5 then.
2007 - CoD4
2013 - Still no CoD5
The Call of Duty hate is not justified because all the games inbetween don't count. /s
Stop making your own stipulations. The GTA series has been throwing out games left right and centre. Only recently has there been a significant wait for the next GTA title.
1997 - GTA, London
1999 - GTA 2
2001 - GTA 3
2002 - Vice City
2004 - San Andreas
2005 - Liberty City Stories
2006 - Vice City Stories
2008 - GTA 4
2009 - Chinatown Wars
and they have released DLC for GTA4. Easier to push out DLC than make a new game from scratch, isn't it? If DLC didn't exist I believe we would have seen more of GTA this gen. The DLC still got a retail release.
I disagree because sometimes it can lessen the experience and is forced on the player without being optional.
My Nintendo 64 isn't compatible with my Snes games! This is bull****!!!
So what if people want to play on easy? The more skill levels the game can cater to the better.
