I knew it would be high, but I think the game worthy of number 1 is Smash Bros. Marvel vs Capcom is awesome too, but I don't like to praise Capcom much these days.

Also, Dante in Viewtiful Joe was a cool crossover. Maybe not worthy of a spot on the list, though. Wasn't a cross over game, but then again neither is Soul Calibur.

Oh, really? I don't recall Robocop vs Terminator on that list :-P

I'm a big Bioshock 1 fan. Money is tight so I'm waiting for a price drop and I would rather buy Ni No Kuni because it will keep its price longer than Bioshock. Far Cry can be purchased at a good price now, though.

I will definitely play them!

I recently started Android gaming and I like it. GTA Vice City with my PS3 controller is awesome, Minecraft is a nice little game and Beach Buggy Blitz is a time killer. I'm looking for my next purchase, but I won't find it this month it seems. Oh, Rayman rocks too. Mobile gaming ain't too bad.

I disagree. Sure there are too many of them and it's hard to stand out in the crowd, but I still like the look of a fps every single year.

Not every action game, rpg or adventure game is amazing either. I really need to play Bioshock and Far Cry 3, but Dishonoured should do nice for now.

I was excited for R6... What a shame :(

I let mine go in say around 2008?

There was a 360 in my house and it was the only console capable of online to an entertaining degree (in my house at that time... The PS3 arrived later here) so paying for live didn't seem that bad...

As my PS3 collection grew I began to not need Live. PS+ is here, my PS can access online and netflix etc for free and I personally love PS+... plus I have a gaming a PC... I just don't feel the need for Live any more.

It stopped me from buying games for around a year. I have really cut back, but there are a few games I will need day1.

I have recently bought Luigi's Mansion, Dishonored and have Hitman, Okami and Catherine to play through thanks to ps+ (many more + titles, actually). Do I really need this game?

Creativity, exploration and goofing around. Improving your techniques, experiencing the game with friends and being inspired by other sources to go and build something. Looking over your finished pieces and the satisfaction of everything working out well in the finished build.

The game is very appealing.

Hell yes! If you have a creative side it's amazing. You can build things in as little or as much detail as you want. It's a fantastic game and a highlight of this generation for me, personally. Reminds me of playing with lego.

I'm currently enjoying Hitman. I can't wait to download Catherine either. I haven't even got round to Okami yet and that was last month.

Probably not, to be honest. Dark Souls 2 has the potential ro be great and it may release after GTA5 sooooo...

I'm sure we'll probably see another great game on the system.

Painkiller sucks, but are you telling me that is more of an award than being good and dropping game ending nukes or getting chopper gunner consistently? Nah, didn't think so.

That they are. I was a fan until MW3. I hated MW3, but supported Blops2 because of Treyarch. Unfortunately I didn't like that game either. Black Ops1 will forever be my best CoD and I don't think it will ever be topped by any other CoD game. I will not buy Ghosts, that's for sure. Dark Souls 2 is where I am spending all my time since Dark Souls is my best game of the generation.

Punish good players and reward bad ones? Clearly you have never played CoD. Good consistent players always bring in high scores.

Smart strategy to save some money and support your fave devs / publishers. I usually only ever buy pre-owned if I'm getting a really good deal on it or if there is little to no alternative. I have recently started buying way more titles pre owned than I used to. Primarily I use my PS3 so luckily Blu Rays are durable. I have stopped getting most games I would usually get day 1 on their release dates because it is getting too costly. I have only just got Dishonored (which I wanted day 1) an...

I still have hopes for the feature or features inspired by it. If Watch Dogs pulls it off then maybe the trend can spread and get more creative. Resident Evil 6 also had a mode where you could become an enemy in another persons game, didn't it?

4671d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

I don't think it matters. Resident Evil is the one that made it popular enough to change the way a lot of games are played.

Journey / Flower had quite an impact on me. GTA3 was an awesome 3D Sandbox. Gears of War and its cover system is a big one too. Sure it's not a PS game and it wasn't the first to do it, but it is the game that brought it to the mainstream and developed a gaming trend. Since it's a Sony article I'm trying to think of Sony related games. They say Voice control in Socom is similar to Kinekt and PS Move? Screw that... Eye Toy falls more in line with the point they're trying to...

Good point. However, they listed Twin Snakes despite Nintendo's involvement with the project (which will ensure it will only be released on Ninty platforms) so I thought Demon's Souls could probably still qualify for a spot on the list.
