Looking at their full release schedule, it's crazy, there's around 25 unreleased games they're doing right now!
I've played a few, but tend to go for strange ones like Hatoful Boyfriend or Katawa Shoujo (genuine tear-jerker). I'm waiting for Sekai Project to release PacaPlus, the best alpaca-based visual novel of all time!
At least this one isn't gonna come out this year, and isn't another near-identical horror game. But Scott Cawthon needs to let it go, and try something actually different. Hell, he can still say "From the creator of FNAF", just make other games!
I normally see bullet hells as beautiful. Nothing like seeing a flower shaped load of bullets hurtling towards you as you dance around them! This one just seems messy. More like scribbles than art, not to be too mean.
Such a shame. I'm a sucker for bullet hells like Dodonpachi, but this one looks pretty messy. Shifting seems like a cool idea, pity it can't carry the game in the same way as Ikaruga's colour swap mechanic.
The Shia music never gets old, makes me laugh every time xD
Would have added Peter Dinklage, but then he got Nolan Northed
Oh god...Megaman voices. (Spoiler Warning for Megaman X4 in video)
Admittedly, I'm a Pokemon fan, but I have become a little jaded with newer releases. I have to just say, I really don't think a spin-off mobile game is going to affect handheld hardware sales. Pokemon (along with other Nintendo games) easily makes their handhelds sell. The 3DS has sold very well (better than their home console certainly), and they are still making main Pokemon titles (like Pokemon Z being pretty much confirmed), so they'll always have a big game to sell handhelds....
Great article, but sad not to see PacaPlus here. Best Alpaca-based dating sim ever. I also wish more of these were on Android. Missing my Alpaca fix here.
I've played it, and it is really Megaman-like with the "Jump-n-Shoot" gameplay. Also had a bit of Megaman X where it taught you how to play the game very well with a nice difficulty curve. Shame the second game was a bit more random in level design, but the variety is nice.
Great review. I gave this a go on Android, and was really impressed. Visually and audibly, it's fantastic. Very interesting concept done pretty well.
Such a nostalgia rush reading this, especially for number 1's evil laugh!
Ah, that iconic villain of bear and birds,
The evil witch and her rhyming words!
Born and raised on Sonic, I will however admit my Mario love. But for the older games, Sonic trumps Mario. I think you pinned it down with the freedom. Its amusing that older Sonic games were about exploration, but now he tends to go in a straight line of speed, while Mario used to be all about moving right, then jumped to 3D exploration, but recently, the two are a lot more similar in their linear design.
I'm an interesting case. Raised on Sonic, but jumped to Mario at the 64. I really enjoyed the 3D games, and I enjoy the easy difficulty of the newer sidescrollers, but sprite-based Mario never captured my interest. Though that might change with Super Mario Maker :)
Cool, Flight of the Valkyries in a helicopter anyone?
I like that the Senran Kagura series doesn't take itself seriously. It's a great parody of sexualisation in games. Just look at the breast physics, not even Dead or Alive jiggles that much!
One of the reasons I loved Bioshock Infinite. One of the few games you can look DOWN and see the sky. Beautiful.
So long as we don't end up with a Duke Nukem Forever scenario again, a delay is fine. Games take time to polish, and I'd rather a long journey for treasure, than a short trip to the dump.
