Lower prices are a wonderful dream, but I'm sure the extra money will just line the pockets of the executives. I love the idea though!

So far in game ads haven't bothered me. As long as they don't interfere with the gameplay, I don't care. It's basically the same as product placement in movies...

Mike...

Sorry to waste your time with such a pointless article. I just thought people might like hearing some opinions and maybe have some thoughtful discussion about the topic. I guess that was too much to ask.

I think the number of Xbox Live subscribers shows that there are a lot of people interested in online play...and it's only going to grow as companies make games that take better advantage of it.

However, I think in the long run it might actually give the PS3 the advantage. As they continue to improve the PSN, I think people will start to really question what they're paying for on Live when it's free on PS3.

For some reason that sounds like the Batman Begins quote, "It's not who we are underneath, it's what we do that defines us." :)

I don't understand, am I the only one who think the graphics look great? I've been playing PGR a lot lately, and it certainly seems to blow those graphics away. Maybe it's not as nice as MotoStorm, but it's certainly not PS2 graphics, as people said on here.

Maybe people are spoiled by the CG trailers that companies like to show...or maybe it's Sony fanatics trying to downplay anything Xbox...or maybe I just need to have my eyes checked.

That line alone completely discredits this article. Blu-ray might be more advanced, but it's certainly "disputable".

Agreed...I'm very surprised to not see MotorStorm on there. Maybe it's 11th?

I have to say, I think the title was very poorly worded. You flame Xbox owners for jumping on that, but I'm sure PS3 fans would yell and scream if someone posted the article saying "Resistance Still the Best PS3 has to offer."

Back to the point of the article...it's pretty amazing that Gears is still up there. I thought everyone who owned a 360 aleady had it!

I love my 360 and luckily have had no issues with it, but three of my close friends have received the rings of death...although Microsoft replaced them quickly with no complaints. I know many consoles have issues with their first batch, but this seems to be out of control. This is really damaging the reputation of the 360.

I'm not sure, but I think he meant to say "...proof HD DVD is NOT dead..." Otherwise, the comment doesn't make much sense based on the article.

elipse...
If they would produce their movies on HD DVD I would gladly purchase them. I have hundreds of DVDs that I bought legally, as well as about 10 HD DVDs. It's not my fault that Fox / Disney / Sony choose not to support my format.

I believe it will remove the encryption and region encoding and place the files on the hard drive. From there, you can do with it as you please. If you have an HD DVD burner, you could put it on one of those disks and play it in your HD DVD player...

I'm really hoping that the dual-format players catch on and get cheaper so they can produce movies on whatever format the prefer, and none of the early adopters wasted any money.

I was hoping to get this approved and maybe people would discuss whether or not this will have an effect on the format war. It was my understanding that Disney and Fox chose Blu-ray due to the superior encryption...but it may not matter any more.

6934d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

That's true...they are only supporting HD DVD right now. Must be an error in the article, I didn't even notice that.

6934d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah, I have to say that I love my HD DVD player...but not having 5th Element really sucks!

6934d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Us HD DVD owners can dream, can't we? Casino Royale on HD DVD, here I come! If they won't support our format, we'll make the discs ourselves! :)

Please quit it with the "HD DVD is dead" comments. There are currently 24 official HD DVD release dates in 2007. Universal has promised 100 titles in 2007 (and if the recent "leak" is true, some very good ones), and Paramount, Warner and Weinstein have shown no signs of stopping production of HD DVDs. It appears that we'll see at least 150 HD DVDs (probably more like 200) on the market this year, along with 5 or 6 new players from several different companies. HD DVD IS...

Agreed...no hard drive and no headset? Seems pretty pointless to me. At least with the 20 GB PS3 you can still use it as a "cheap" Blu-ray player.
