If you own an HD TV, I think you're missing out. The movies look beautiful...it's a completely different experience. I don't own any discs (except Planet Earth, I had to own that one), I just rent them from Netflix. That way your investment is small if either (or both) doesn't make it.
Digital distribution is still a long way away, and you can get some great looking / sounding movies in the meantime. If you own a PS3, you might as well at least rent them. If you have a 360...
You really think that MS is smiling about the high failure rate? It's cost them a fortune in repairs, not to mention damage to the 360 name.
I know it's been said by many people before, but this site is getting out of hand. It's no longer news, it's just the same articles over and over again and then people flaming each other. I kinda blame the site itself, it rewards people for posting flamebait articles. Not only that, shouldn't an article like this count as a duplicate? Just because it's a different URL doesn't mean it's a different story. I guess I can't say too much since I don't really have a solution. It's human natur...
I 100% agree. I'm sure they did a black version since most other electronics are black and people want it to match, but they should do a white elite too.
I thought that was pretty interesting too, considering the big deal that was made out of "Ana".
As many people here have said, Blu-ray is NOT owned by Sony. MS doesn't need permission to create a Blu-ray add on.
In the name of making this site a better place, please stop with the "xbrick" and other made up names. It just isn't funny. It makes other people not want to listen to your opinion. I've seen countless people on here complain about their loss of bubbles, but turn around and use a term like "xbrick".
1. You supporting Blu-ray is not really relevent in the "format war"
2. They may be smaller, but don't forget Weinstein. So, all but 2. :)
3. You just said "MS never supported HD DVD"...which is it?
4. Ok
5. Not sure what that has to do with anything
6. Don't forget that MS will probably match any PS3 price drop.
You're probably right that "Blu-ray won since the launch of the PS3", but try to come up with a bett...
Are you referring to me? (You quoted me, so I assume you're talking about me) I don't remember ever crying or moaning about the PS3's price. Money wasn't the issue for me when purchasing my 360...availability was. The PS3 wasn't released yet. If you can find a dig on the PS3 somewhere in my comment, you put it there...not me.
EDIT: Smokey - I have absolutely no issue with your decree. I will do my best to pass on the word to my fellow Xbox owners. :)
I wish I shared your optimism. I am also a fan of HD DVD mainly because they are region-free, but it seems to me that Blu-ray is building an insurmountable lead. I don't think Blockbuster is that important anymore, but it is still a hit to a format that can't take many more hits.
I'm afraid that HD DVD isn't selling enough to make Fox or Disney go neutral, and without their support I can't see it winning. I still enjoy my player and certainly don't regret the purchase...bu...
Just curious...how recently was yours repaired?
Edit: So they've been doing this for a while now...thanks for the response!
"Meanwhile the 300,000 ppl who bought the hd-dvd add on for 360 jst 2 help msoft you all should be feeling pretty stupid now."
Do you really know someone who bought the add-on JUST to help Microsoft? That seems like a silly reason. I bought my as a cheap way to watch high-def movies. It was only $200, and I just rent the movies from Netflix. If Blu-ray wins (seems quite likely now) it's no big loss to me. I would guess that many people bought for the same reason ...
I just wanted to congratulate you Bill, you have one bubble and are ignored by 40 people! That's amazing! You must be the king of useless, rude and fanboy comments.
Back to the article...It's sad to me that MS has had so many issues with the 360. I think it has really hurt the reputation of what is otherwise a fantastic machine. I wish they had spent a little more time refining it before they released it. At least they seem to be getting the problems under control now.
Just out of curiosity, which games are you referring to?
Huh? Blu-ray might be on it's way to a victory, but it certainly isn't "the only HD format left". Come on man, be reasonable.
I won't argue with most of those, but "costs just as low as hd-dvd.(fact.don't lie.fact) " is just not true. The discs may be the same price, but they players aren't even close. HD DVD players are (in many cases) hundreds of dollars cheaper. Other than that, you have some solid points for Blu-ray.
"-including bluray in ps3 was genius.fact" - I think we have to wait a little while to see if this is true. Clearly the price of the PS3 is hurting it right n...
I really didn't take his comments personally, I just think his foul language and bad attitude are ruining this site. Good, heated debates are fine, bad language and insulting names such as "hokief2g" are not. That is not an example of a good sense of humor.
Well, it's all about getting hits on your website right? Rumors and speculation seem to attract the crowds (this site is a great example). It's sad, but seems to be true.
Do you actually believe that they will charge money for content on the 360 that will be free on PS3? I'm sorry, but that's just ridiculous. There is no way Rockstar would do that.
Why do you feel the need to add comments like "length of shaft up..."??? How old are you, 12? I bet you whine that you only have one bubble because of "xbots", right? Maybe it's because you use juvenile comments like that instead of well thought out remarks.
Ace...
Amen to that! I know it's been said 100 times, but I just don't understand why people feel the need to bash the "other system." I'm sick of hearing terms like "xbots" and "paystation". It's stupid.
I actually got to play a PS3 for the first time this last weekend at my brother's place. He only has Resistance and Oblivion, but Resistance was quite fun. The only reason I don't have a PS3 is that I wanted a new system when my PS2 broke, and the P...
Please don't flame me for this comment, it's an honest question.
I've never played the original Killzone, so I went to gamerankings.com to check it out. The game received an average of a 73%...decent, but far from extraordinary. Why is this new version for the PS3 receiving so much hype? Was the first one much better than the reviews showed? Is it a cult classic that I don't know about? Like I said, I'm not trying to bash this game, I'm really just curious.
