Awesome app - and it's interesting to hear about the next Sound Board application they've got planned. Should be another good one - I can think of lots of quotes I'd like to hear from those movies :-)
Excellent point - iPhones and iPods have been cleverly positioned as fashion accessories, which has got non-technophiles interested in them. It'll be hard even for Google to get that kind of vogue going on - especially when you compare the G1 and iPhone handsets on a purely aesthetic standing (and, daft as it might be, aesthetics matter).
I wasn't a fan of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed at all, but otherwise I think I'd have drawn up the exact same list. There was even some on there I'd forgotten about - now I have to go dig them out and start playing all over again!
Good list.
Well, I guess with Android being open source, Google will have to live with anyone making handsets whether they like it or not - even if it's Sony Ericsson.
I do love the idea of an Android Walkman phone, though!
There'll probably always be a place for physical media, but downloads are increasing in quality - it won't be long before they're up to HD standard.
Plus, as the article says, how about stores selling AVI and Divx (in HD, or maybe even dual format now the capacities are getting so big) on memory cards. You can watch it in whichever device you want then - PS3, X360, even your smartphone.
That's true - CDs are still here. Indeed, every time a new format comes along, the first thing people say isn't "Oooo! What excellent quality!", it's "Oh great. So now I have to buy everything all over again?". That happened with CD and DVD, and now people are kinda getting wise to it. Plus, there are so many option now. Once DVD, and VHS for that matter, won out, it's not like there was any other option.
Blu-Ray even has to compete with iTunes, and as this tech impr...
Actually, that's a very good point. Sour grapes after HD-DVD failed, I guess.
Are you using the Blu-Ray feature for watching many movies? It'd be insteresting to be able to gauge how many PS3 users are using their console as a media player as much as a games system.
And do you think Blu-Ray swayed your decision to buy a PS3? Perhaps Blu-Ray is actually the saviour of the PS3?
It must suck, getting to that position by default, rather than working your way their like most do. It's like he's getting all the benefits of knives that other politicians stuck in people's backs, rather than actually knifing anyone himself. The lazy fat gimp.
I think we should sign the country over to Richard Branson - someone who actually has the nonce to run it properly. We could change the country's name to the Virgin Islands, or something.
One way or another, looking at this...
Couldn't agree with you more in terms of Brown's 'leadership', though I wouldn't say the UK has never really embraced gaming. At times, the UK has led the world in this industry - precariously, but still out in front.
Not that the government, or the likes of the BBC would be aware of that, of course - they do indeed believe we all just sit around watching EastEnders and only want to buy insurance policies from each other, instead of taking part in any worthwhile economy :-)
...
I agree the first one came as something of a surprise once you got playing. I guess it's inevitable that the sequel can't have the same impact, but it still looks pretty damn good.
Evidently people care right now - check the temp (then go back to only reading about Gears of War 2 like you're supposed to).
This is just great. I agree completely. It's as though the music industry (soon to be followed by the film industry) blames the consumer because IT has failed to meet the changes in the way people want to listen to music.
It's another typical example of the abusive parent hitting a child and saying "Now look what you made me do!"
Industries like film and music should just count their blessings that they've had so many years of being able to openly over charge the consumer. It's over now, bu...
GiantEnemyCrab: Yeah, we agree. This isn't a Microsoft love-in or anything - our writer simply felt compelled to document his experience with a faulty Xbox 360. We felt it was as relevant now as it was when the problem first came to light.
Indeed, our editor accepted the article pitch as he also felt it provided an update on how this systemic problem has been handled, and while it might not be the kind of vitriolic, negative tirade that makes up 75% of N4G's hot items, there's no reason...
There's something to be said for dying the way you lived, though ;-)
I know what you mean about the loading getting in the way here and there, but I think this is the best looking anime/manga adaptation ever seen. Naruto looked good, but I think this one looks better even than the TV show.
Excellent point. Hadn't thought of that. Good man.
I think this game's pretty sweet on any platform - but the issue here is more to do with pricing structures than playability (though the article is just as valid when it comes to discussing PSN distribution, too, I guess).
