Yep, that's the danger here. There aren't many games at all that last 90 days - least of all on the iPhone.
I know!? Why the long delay? It must be ready if they're handing it out to devs today. I guess they're wanting to get some app support built up first. But we could by typing landscape emails tomorrows! Bah.
Yeah - tons of possibility with that little gem.
Can't blame the devs for coming up with new ways of getting noticed :-)
These games are always popular, I guess. Be interesting to see if the iPhone can handled them as well (or better) than the DS. Nice article.
You can never have too much Postal, nor too many babes. So... Postal Babes is right up my alley (fnar fnar)!
Hardcore gaming comes down to playability in the end - if developers can make games that glue people to the iPhone, and provide an intensive experience, there's no reason the iPhone shouldn't be able to cater to the hardcore gamer as much as any system. I think the titles listed in this article prove that.
Sweet article. Let's just hope the dying DS and pointless DSi doesn't spoil Nintendo's awesome track record - which this article dutifully reminds us of.
Nice to see someone in the games industrry with a few principles. This clearly isn't a publicity stunt, so it's good to see them making an effort to try and change things. Good on 'em, I say.
This isn't just the best game on the iPhone, it's one of the best games ever made. It ranks up there with Tetris, and Doom, and all those other genuine groud breaking titles.
It'll be a long time - if ever - that a better game appears on the iPhone. Absolutely vital.
Very true. At least we weren't left waiting too long this time, I suppose - normally it's more expensive and three months later than the US.
The fact of the matter is that Trip's been around the industry longer than most, and knows what gamers want. If Trip says it doesn't matter, I'm inclined to agree!
Nice article.
This is gonna be sweet!
This game is freakin' awesome. Best action game I've played since well before Christmas - on PC, console, iPhone and everything else.
Really hope this game comes to other formats - it's be sweet on WiiWare and iPhone!
Now that's a console I'd pay for!
Yeah - you have to wonder if the PSP2 rumors are true, considering the utter lack of support the current console's getting from Sony. Maybe its efforts are going into the sequel?
Well, that's a really good point. It could yet mean limited functionality for any possible DS2, as well.
And it doesn't really suggest the PSP2 will fail - it just means it'll have to work around iPhone's patent ownership, which won't be easy to do.
I don't know - there's lots of touchscreen around, but not all that much multi-touch (not easy to say with false teeth). As you say, what they need to do is come up with user interactions that don't impinge on the patent, which won't be easy considering the consumers will now expect a standard set by Apple.
It's going to make things very touch for the competition if Apple start enforcing.
This is exactly what the DS needs - stop it going the way of the doomed PSP. Sweet article.
Amen to that, ba-rother. Couldn't have said it better.
