Also, it's interesting to see a WWII game that's not all 'chocks away!' and 'pip pip!', if that makes sense? I know it doesn't, but this still look like a good game :-)
I quite like to see devs take a new approach, depending on the platform, but Doom's never really caught my interest at all yet. Be interesting to see if this one does - I'm willing to give it a go :-)
Yeah - Carmack is as smitten with the iPhone as everyone else. Easy to see why, though, from a dev's point of view.
Agreed. It just seemed to make no sense to remove what's still a current game. At least this proves ngmoco are listening, and not to proud to change direction when its customers speak.
I've deliberately not updated it yet - I can't afford the time right now!
Couldn't agree more. The Amiga and the Mega Drive (and the ZX Spectrum). I've never enjoyed gaming as much as I did on those systems. Everything since then has been an anticlimax.
Yeah, I have very high hopes for the Pandora. I actually think it'd compliment an iPhone very nicely. Looks like an awesome device. Pocket Gamer has some excellent coverage of it.
That's kinda missing the point. It's that the 3GS is capable of running a PlayStation and DS emulator that's the real news item here. Not so much that you can play Pokemon - whichever version is shown on the video (not put together by PocketGamer, by the way).
Also, I'm not sure how the PSP could possibly better at this task. It doesn't have a touchscreen, so how is it you think it could run a DS emulator? lol!
Well, the iPhone users out there would appreciate your effort, I'm sure :-)
Ouch. That's gonna hurt Apple if it persists. Especially considering the reputation its already got for not caring about old customers, what with the 3GS launch and all the contract problems people have had when it comes to upgrading.
Pocket Gamer broke this story, and had a preview of the C64 emulator live before this - or any other site (even touch arcade was informed of this news by Pocket Gamer, by the way) - had even heard the news. Show some integrity and give credit where it's due, guys: http://n4g.com/NewsPending-...
Been playing the hell out of Bruce Lee - forgotten what a sweet game that was!
Mainstreaming it. Exactly. I like that word :-)
In so much as 'pioneer' means to advance the development of a particular area, I think you're right - the iPhone has pioneered digital distribution, yeah.
It's a step in the right direction, at least.
I don't think there are many features left to remove! Sony's just lost touch completely.
The whole thing reminds me of the PS3 launch all over again. Sony wanted silly money for that, too, and thought it could dictate to gamers what they'd buy. Just goes to show how out of touch Sony is with the games industry, and is too arrogant to do anything about it.
Nicely done! I wonder how many others managed to sneak that one through?
I guess GAME took Kaz Hirai literally when he said it'd be the same as the PSP launch price. That'll learn 'em :-)
Good for you though, Menchi!
That'd be the absolute maximum, I'd say. Whether you like the redesign or not (and I don't mind it to be honest) this is a reduced function PSP. It's a hardware downgrade, not an upgrade.
Now, if it was sub-£100 (and ideally nearer £70), this would make a great budget console that'd go down a storm. What Sony's obviously failed to realise is that selling the Go! cheaper would mean it could make a lot of money from the extra customers coming to the PlayStation Store - as...
Well, it's Doom , at least, even if it's not an all new Doom. Can't go wring with the classics, I guess.
