it was a surprise that ps3 remained free for mp. i think they always wanted a subscription plan for online play but wanted to build a bigger userbase.
like to add that ps3 when released was terrible. had the ugliest psn store, think most games used the gamespy service for online. they didnt have a proper infrastructure where your psn iD would be used for all games.
but to be honest, we really shouldnt be paying for online mp, but we dont really have a choice...

i think nazi swastika has always been right facing and at a 45 degree angle. the pic you showed is left facing which the nazis never used.

psnow allows me to play games. a ps4 hdd upgrade just allowed me more hdd space i am not getting any benefits whatsoever on the gaming side apart from not needing to delete games.

the 360 was definitely a bigger money maker than the ps3. it sold around the same amount of consoles but made more money on each one because pf manufacturing cost.
