that was the thing about mgs.
apart from sniper or any 1st person view weapons it was basically a 2d top down game.
gameplay wise it still holds up if you treat it as a 2d game.
cant say too much about it visually since it has been a while since i played it without an emulator. though i probably love it no matter what
wouldnt call genius, but a prety cool thing. wish i had the talent/disposable income to do this.
i dont think the creator makes this to sell. its probably not worth his time.

dont get me wrong, a few people may find this perfect. but i think its more of a hobby for the creator and it looks like he had a bunch of fun creating this.
its a cool idea and its fascinating seeing these guys mod things like this.

a decent game for $5. that has to be a must buy.

i think thats a good idea, pc games should just have a eelease window.
its not like they need preorders or to physically ship a product anyway.
you should also try and list the games that got delayed and got released in a better state.

the xbox did learn a lot from the dc thoguh, so i think it was in a sense a spiritual succesor. without dc/sega i dont think ms would have stepped into the console scene so early or at all.
ahead of its time is not always a good thing. especially with consumer goods.
ps3 was ahead of its time by using blu-ray discs. many argue that it was this drive that made the console cost too much. it was also new technology so disc read was very slow.
xbox clearly took ideas from dc and improved on them. if you were around during those times you could easily tell.
need a lot of talent to pull of a game with no cutscenes.
i personally like cutscenes, it allows the director to show you what he wants instead of something that you probably could have missed because you looked the other direction
