I own a PS2 game and cant rip it at the moment because I have a second GPU in my laptop instead of a DVD drive. If I own the game I can download it legally right?

You have to at least pretend to be fair in that industry. There's also a chance that not everyone that works at Polygon is a total buffoon though.

If I still had one I would get the PS3 version too, unless it came to GOG or something. Looks like I will be getting it on Steam though possibly, unless I get another PS3 first.

People that say that (your second paragraph) don't understand the limitations of "mobile" tech or the fact that PC/console tech continues to evolve too without as many restrictions.

I give the author credit for admitting he was wrong while so many other people are just jumping onto the next hype train.

Exactly.

To me most other games were already ruined when I got into the series. There are a few exceptions but not many games offer such a thrill to me. I've seen more and more popping up lately that look promising. A lot of them are independently funded(sometimes big budget) because big publishers usually shy away from games that aren't generic or casual enough to appeal to everyone.
We could have another golden age of gaming on our hands how that there is an obvious demand for hardco...

"here are mid range mobile phones with lower clock speed out now that can perform a hell of a lot better than 360 and PS3"

Show a few examples.

"The only problems are battery life, power consumption"

Don't forget about thermal, space, manfacturing limitations, etc.

Btw, I agree with some of what you are saying.

Most of the mainstream consumers will ignore it because it looks like an obsure gaming device. Many hardcore gamers will ignore it because it is an android phone.
I can see it maybe finding its' place in a niche market for dedicated gamers who like the games it will offer or already use their phones for emulators and such.
I thought it might have an i5 processor for like one second.
If dual boot linux or something on it it might be worth having. Have a gaming lapto...

It's almost like that's the way they want it. They haven't sold it out and I really appreciate that.

A lot more data is gathered than people like to admit, even though they even agree to it many times.

Then there's this from the article:

"user IDs and other public data"

Should be interesting to see how people feel about this. :D

Sessler is to busy replaying Gone Home to cover this game it seems.
Anyway, check out the wallpaper on this gaming laptop I happened to bump into:

It looks familiar.

This is cool, but I'm not watching it.
Sucks that I have to wait so long for the PC release.
Wish I had my PS3.

My laptop will run this splendidly.

Yeah, I would go with 7 too if I was building a new rig.
Also agree that people have no idea how many PC gamers there are. A quick look at Steam stats alone should wake people up:

GOG is also growing rapidly and has a large community, along with others.

Or they could could make a solid OS for laptops/PCs, for people that don't feel like downgrading to tablet specs. Otherwise people will have to switch to linux/steam, etc.
Windows 8 was a slap in the face to a lot of people, even though you can restore most of the Windows 7 functionality manually. They should probably get their act together and make products that people want instead of continuing to force things down people's throats.
That said, my gaming laptop has W...

I would love to get this if the DRM is reasonable this time around, otherwise I'll wait for a price drop or get it when I have a PS3 again.

Technically graphics continue to improve but if the art is timeless people will remember it (Okami as an example). Some music can stick around and have a lasting effect for similar reasons.

What's funny is the title had the word free 2 times as if to point out that the free map would actually be free.

It worked after several tries for me.

I think the funny thing here is that if it isn't 1080p, nobody really noticed or even said anything about it until there were articles about it.
