I understand where your getting at, cheaper price brings in more people but remember the people that were stupid enough to purchase a 40GB thinking it could play PS2 games during the Christmas season? If you spend some time research the two models you would know which console to get, but alot of people don't do that unless it is printed in huge letters on the console's box itself.
Sure, backwards compatibility is a minor problem but if a new variation of the ps3 system comes o...
Is it possible to get a firmware that enables backwards compatability for the 40GB? Maybe something could be in the mix when Home arrives.
I wish Sony would stop producing SKU's if this is true. Stop scaring consumers!
Release date would be nice since I have had my pre order since July...
lol. bubbles for you.
Yeah it would be nice to see a price drop, but Sony better not come out with a new SKU priced at 299. I think that would just cause more confusion than necessary and scare off even more consumers.
I'm suprised that there is a non nintendo game in the top 10...
Well written article. I hardly ever buy used video games, except the odd N64 title.
Btw, if Gamestop is ripping you off, then why not sell it on ebay?
It won't, as long as they steer clear of "Hot Coffee"
This game must be fairly close to being finished (already rated by Australia). By the way things are going, it just seems GTAIV is going to show up on retailers shelves on a random day.
For games scheduled to be released in 2008, here is my top five sellers (no order):
GTA IV (being launched on PS3/360 is gonna sell alot of games)
Super Smash Bros Brawl (will sell well if not pushed back further)
Wii fit (hottest new fad from Japan!)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (The hype for this game is huge)
Gran Turismo 4 (people trust a brand name and when it comes to racing sim's, Gran Turismo is agruably the best)
Please don't slander me...
I don't think I would by some lights and a fog machine for a video game, especially for $100. Don't see alot of people buying this.
Everyone fears change, so why should a company make several different systems just to scare off potential buyers? The 40GB and 80GB PS3's are great options for the time being. The only change I could see is a price drop for both systems when some good exclusives are released.
From the jist of the article, it says that Betamax had a cult following somewhat. I don't know about you, but I would rather be a mainstream format for a decade and then have a cult following for two.
Lol, bubbles!
In my opinion, Sony should replace Motorstorm with Gran Turismo 5 in the 80GB bundle during the 2008 christmas season. It is the best candidate to move systems.
I wonder how many HD DVD players/discs will be put on ebay in the next couple of weeks...
Hasn't N4G seen enough Uncharted reviews?
Best article picture ever.
First game I got for the PS3, and loved it. I never really liked FPS until I played it, and ended up finishing it like 4 times. Definately worth a pick up IMO and excited for the next one.
I got one!
