How much do you value Gears? Because if its not worth 300 dollars then don't go for it. For consoles, I couldn't bring myself to buy a machine that could potentially make me jump through hoops or even buy multiple versions to play the games, no matter how good they are.

No one game can turn around sales,no matter how good it is. It needs to be atleast 4-5 premium titles that are released close to each other to have any effect.
I can agree with alot of these points that the author said, and believe they can/will be fixed for the next GTA game. I'd also like to see the game be a timed exclusive for either console (360, PS3) so the developers can focus on one system, none of this multi-platform launch crap.
I definately got my $60 out of this game and if I ever get my PS3 online correctly then the multiplayer will add some replay value.
Alot of people have short term memory, and like to hear what they want to hear. Sure Sony's closing the gap, but they have a long way to go especially since they are not exactly "dominating" Europe or Japan.
happy this game is coming over to the PS3. Hopefully it will be ported accurately and that it will be good as everyone says it is.
People are comparing the game to San Andreas, when it should be compared to GTA III. SA ran on an engine that was already perfected, and Rockstar was able to throw everything including the kitchen sink into the game. GTA 4 had to be built from the ground up, and so some sacrifices were made to finish the game without spending millions more or another 1-2 years in development.

I really couldn't see Haze getting scores in the 8-9 range. I guess you as the gamer have to decide if you like it or not by playing it.
Thats alot of software to move in thirty days, its possible but I think it will reach about 10-11 million in the first month.
because if they went all out in IV, then the next installments would be grasping at straws to improve and innovate. I just finished the game about an hour ago, logging about 45 hours and I really enjoy the story except maybe the ending. Like the poster mentioned a couple of posts ago, it could've ended a mission or two earlier. But then again, I gotta play it again for the alternate ending.
I don't think EA completely finished with Take-Two just yet.
Rockstar is gonna have to try a little bit harder on a patch.

I think alot of people who don't like GTA IV don't like it because it is GTA or all the hype it has generated. Yeah, yeah its not a perfect game but is there any such thing as "perfect" in the real world?

I forgot about the portable games having custom soundtracks. It's possible, but Rockstar has to implement the feature themselves.
I agree, Activision is gonna milk the Guitar Hero brand just like they have been doing with Tony Hawk Pro Skater. This news makes me one step closer to purchasing Rock Band...
