if anybody would know about "just noise", it's pachter.
i thought some of the features sounded like stuff he'd already talked about.
i can't wait to see what he's working on.
i agree with that article 100%.
though there is one point i would like to add.
the point the other guy made about developers/publishers wanting to get paid for their work, work on the part of the developers anyway.
my point is, they already did.
for every preowned game sold, they already got their fair share when it was sold new.
every single preowned copy had to be bought new at some point.
that'...
i have to ask when people say this.
WHY?
if i sell a game i bought and whoever bought it off me sells it on again, why does the publisher deserve a cut?
what other industry gets that?
if they want to profit from used sales, they need to do what these stores do and buy the games off people.
if they want to profit, then they have to give us a return on our investment.
remember, the stores have to do tha...
i would.
i'd then stick it straight on ebay. ^_^
rent servers so you can make your own rules, then they tell you you can't make your own rules.
ea, gotta love em.
her voice is good, her sense of fashion is bloody awful.
the key to a good april fools joke is it has to at least be plausible.
it depends, if you bought your xbox for games, not so much.
ms seem to be heading one way with the xbox these days, and it's not towards gaming.
i played games last gen that had voice commands, all kinect does is save them the time and effort required to code voice recognition software themselves.
that's exactly what i was thinking.
he was like the guy for sony for so long.
but good luck to him in his new job, i wonder what kind of impact we'll see him making.
that's not news, that's a bloody ad.
how was fable ii no number 1?
i mean, once you use the magic box, you don't even have to do anything.
if you don't kill Lucien, Reaver will do it for you, he gets bored very easily you see.
they probably only listed games that people would willingly play. ^_^
seems like a well thought out article, though i have disagree on a couple of points.
firstly, i do actually think preowned sales "help" the industry.
how many people have bought new games and paid part of the cost from trade ins?
i know i have, and so have a lot of others.
i wouldn't buy as many new games as i do if i couldn't.
also, profits from preowned sales subsidise stores selling new stock for less than the rrp.
...
why?
greed, that's why.
as far as i can see, there are no benefits to the consumer.
this won't stop piracy.
it didn't stop piracy on pc.
and if the consoles need to be hacked to bypass the anti piracy measures anyway, they'll just bypass this too.
make no mistake, this kind of thing has nothing to do with piracy, it's all about stopping the totally legal preowned trade.
and...
does that mean they'll get rid of that piss poor outfit they call scee?
if they lock out preowned games they can shove that machine up their stupid bloated arse.
i didn't get any. :(
"But personally I have no idea why anyone would want to buy any portable gaming device other than an iPhone or an iPod Touch. "
i can think of one.
buttons.
even a psp is better for playing most of the games i play.
i haven't played many games on my touch that wouldn't be at least as good, if not far better with proper controls.
i even prefer playing angry birds with the analog nub thing on the psp than i do ...
