it's nice that it can do all that, it's not so nice that you can't turn it off.
and in the orientation demo, the guy turned around, but the figure didn't. ^_^
not exploitation?
the reports you stole money from the ACM project to fund your other games would seem to indicate otherwise, and now 3D Realms suing you for unpaid royalties for DNF.
during the deceitful ACM demo you said you'd been stealing from Aliens your whole career.
turns out you were being literal in that case.
the only truthful thing you said in that video.
authenticity?
you don't even know what the wo...
it's not just that they won't be giving away those games the first month, though they definitely made it seem like they would at E3.
there's also the implication that those two games are going to be the only retail games you'll be getting free.
i was tempted to get a live sub while they were giving away games, even older titles if they were the quality of the two they listed.
but now it seems they'll mostly be xbla titles.
...
i've been watching the Yogcast guys playing this and it looks pretty damn good.
i could see me having a lot of fun with this game.
those dance games might suffer, but other games, not so much.
i tried playing it last night.
i'm glad i didn't pay for it.
i discovered the PS3 version after writing that.
and i tried playing last night but the servers were down.
free, if you pay for a gold sub that is.
i have no trouble believing that.
so, gamers are entitled for raging against companies trying to deny them their rights, while the industry is perfectly justified in going after money they legally have no right to and in doing so violate our rights.
sure.
well, that's a form of feedback.
people said "that's unacceptable, we're not going to buy that".
this shows that what i've been saying for a long time is true.
if gamers are truly united we can have enormous power in this industry.
we shouldn't be beholden to the publishers any more.
digital as an option? great
as the only option? not so great.
especially on console, where any digital store would be a monopoly operation run by the console manufacturer.
monopolies are almost never good for the consumer.
i prefer discs, but i've still spent quite a lot of money on digital.
fail
"but instead it goes solely into the roughly-monopolised pockets of corporate games stores."
not worth reading past this point.
why would i, this idiot buys the corporate propaganda.
it's all the evil retailers and not people who bought the game new looking to get a return on their investment.
because only the publishers are allowed to do that right?
and the monopolised games stores?
and ms i...

so much wrong there.
firstly, piracy?
i agree, piracy is a problem, but this wasn't about piracy.
you think if pirates can bypass the built in security, which they would have to to enable piracy on a console, they couldn't then bypass this kilobytes authentication thing?
no, this was about preowned.
...
except it wasn't an always online console.
they kept going on about how you could connect through a tethered phone and it was kilobytes to authenticate.
how are you going to run a cloud through a mobile network?
if it was a truly always on console, it would have needed to be always on, not a few kb a day.
and why does the fact you now don't need to be online to play single player games that don't need a net connection to f...
cliffy, do fuck off, there's a good fellow.
oh yeah?
i suspect, or at least hope, it just parts of games that don't need any internet functions.
obviously for online multiplayer, or any other online functions, you need to be online.
frankly, i think adding limits like that, would drive people away for good.
it would be a suicidal thing for them to do.
but then, i didn't think they'd be stupid enough to do the whole drm thing, and they proved me wrong once, so who knows.
do as i say, not as i do then? o_O
when i do get a Wii U, and i will at some point, it won't be for the Mario games, it'll be for stuff like X, the new Monolithsoft game, Lego City, Zelda and Scribblenauts.
actually, mostly X, Xenoblade was one of the best games i've ever played and X looks to be the spiritual successor, if not a direct sequel.
no you can't.
they say you can, but that's another one of their lies, it's still listening, always, it has to be on to be able to do that.
if you could truly turn it off, you could use the x1 with the kinect disconnected, but so far it seems that's not possible.
only ms know for certain, but once people get the final version we'll discover the truth of the situation.
