It's a shame killzone 2 wasn't more successful. Something is wrong when people eat up the same rehash of COD every year but then pass up a game like kz2. Yea the voice acting is spotty at times, but the gameplay is top notch. Easily one of the best shooters and the best looking console game ever. (yes it looks better than uncharted2)
KZ2 is anything but a disappointment.
I'm glad matt casamassina is gone from the nintendo team. I personally felt that he was biased towards the wii. Also, achievements are one of the most innovative things this gen. I personally could care less about my trophy score on the ps3 but it has made quite an impact on gaming as a whole. That's what craig said too in their latest podcast, he said he felt that motion controls (obviously) have made the biggest impact and that achievements were second.
yea, i hear you guys. I didn't mean ALL the games. I just find it crazy that so many titles look like garbage when the gamecube was capable of putting out so many beautiful games. You guys are right with the wii having some great looking "cartoon" style games. I really wanna get my hands on muramasa, i can never find it at the local shops though. I also wanna try out the new 'a boy and his blob'
Why do so many wii games look horrible? The wii is more powerful than the gamecube and the gamecube had some of the best looking titles last gen. Mario Galaxy and Corruption are the exception to this.

The Godfather on the wii is awesome. It's one of the few games that actually put motion controls to great use. Grabbing people and tossing them around felt really cool in that game. It's a shame it didn't sell too well and it's an even bigger shame that i lost my copy when i moved out of chicago.

i have the japanese import on the ps3 and i know it's inferior to the 360 version. It's not unplayable and in no way is the game worthless like so many fanboys make it out to be. My biggest complaint with it is that the loading screens are loooong. I haven't noticed hardly any screen tearing or framerate dips.

I don't understand why some ps3 fanboys have such a hard time taking this game seriously. It has good graphics, great music, great gameplay and a great story.

Do yourself a favor, save your money, buy a ps3 and play games. Stop focusing on why one console is better than the other.

This being game of the year for the wii is a good and a bad thing. To me it shows that nintendo hasn't lost their magic but it also shows that 3rd party support is still extremely lacking. If an enhanced version of a ds game is better than everything else, it shows that something is wrong.
Don't get me wrong, NSMB:Wii is an awesome game, i absolutely love playing with 3-4 players, i just wish 3rd parties would focus less on family style mini games and rail shooters.

The game is awesome, i have the import. I won't go into too much detail but yes it is linear, at least it has been so far. I'm about 10 hours in. Is being linear a bad thing? I don't think it is in this case, yes some people will hate it but i enjoy it. At least play the finished copy before you automatically cast it aside.

i'm not knocking bioware, they seem like a solid enough studio but to say that jrpg's aren't evolving is a little silly to me. 90% of the stuff out right now is either recycled stuff or sequels. I'll take a solid jrpg any day over a cover system tps game (or a bioware game for that matter). You can't take a jrpg and turn it into an all out action game, it wouldn't be a jrpg. I haven't played assassins creed 2. I have the first and i never finished it. Moving on...Uncharted2 is far from groundbreaking when it comes to gameplay. The only thing groundbreaking about uncharted2 is the presentation values. The game is awesome but I must admit I think it's a bit over rated in terms of gameplay. I think part of me feeling this way is that im getting so sick and tired of taking cover and shooting. It was cool at first but now too many games do it. I need a change.
