Cookies with pieces of crap in them, that's funny.
You do make a good point. Rarely do people want to buy rail shooters. Granted I have 3 of them on the wii but that's because I like RE and Dead Space.
Dead Space extraction is a joke when compared to it's big brother. Guided FPS my foot. They should have made a TPS. It would've sold at least 500k if not more.
I have a question.
Why is it that the majority of wii owners here talk about how the 3rd party efforts for wii games are trash, but then whenever an article is posted showing bad sales for such games they get upset about it and compare other systems 3rd party efforts and say that the games are a "slow burn."
Just curious.
The wii doesn't need M rated games or gore filled games. It needs more games with substance (good story, atmosphere, etc). The only game that comes to mind that has been recently released on the wii is Crystal Bearers.
To anyone who has bought that game, is it any good? What are the controls like? Is it mainly ir pointing or does it require a lot of motion based gestures?
It's no secret that homecoming didn't sell stellar numbers. It's pointless to compare the sales though because Silent Hill Shattered Memories was being looked at as (yet again) a title that was going to show that there is an audience for such games on the wii. Homecoming on the ps3/360/pc was just another game being released.
the debate isn't with games being rated M, when people say mature or hardcore they usually just mean titles that the typical gamer wants to play.
The wii doesn't have a lack of M rated games, what it has is a lack of games worth playing.
I'm one of the "few" that went out and bought the conduit, darkside chronicles, dead space extraction & madworld.
Go back and read the post again.
Seferoth was pulling titles that were never expected to sell large quantities, except for Lair, which i pointed out was a complete failure. Lots of these 3rd party games bombing on the wii are the same titles that get hyped and are expected to show that the wii has a "core" audience.
I'...
It's real easy now to go and say how The Conduit, Madworld & god knows how many other wii games weren't "big budget" after we all witnessed the failure that the majority of them were. No one was stopping and saying, "Now wait guys, the development funding for this game isn't very high, let's not get ahead of ourselves..." when the games were being hyped to no end by ign and other game sites.
I come here and read an article about 3rd parties not putting in ...
all you did was take 4 third party titles that didn't sell insane amounts on the ps3.
Lair is a complete mess
blaz blue is a niche fighting game
dark sector is a crap game that goes for $7 at gamestop
ninja gaiden sigma 2 is a port of a year old 360 game that came out 2 weeks before uncharted 2.
The only game that was expected to be amazing was Lair. All these wii games that didn't sell extremely well (with an install base of 60 million) were being ...
I might buy this if it comes to the psn.
dang, i didn't know the ps3 port wasn't getting released in the states. Hopefully theres english subs. I'll get the import.
Good article.
that's a really low number considering that there are over 60 million units sold. I know on mine wii i've at least 10 mii's.
i couldn't agree more.
red steel was one of the worst games i've ever played. It was an unfinished mess of a game and it only sold well because it was a launch title.
The sequel looks cool but I don't plan on buying/playing it.
slightly off topic but did anyone see the mega64 video of the guy going back in time and showing people NSMB:Wii? It's pretty funny. Before you scream, "fanboys!" Watch the whole video, it's a joke.
seferoth,
are you serious?
This guy doesn't like NSMB:Wii so you make jokes about his dad molesting him in a mario costume.
"Did your dad dress up as Mario and try to explore world 10-3 by using your pipes?"
What in the world is wrong with you? That's disgusting.
I think wolfenstein is the most difficult because half the trophies are for the MP and the online MP is soooo broken. It'll log you off multiple times during a match and you lose all your progress.
i literally played the demo of this game for about 15 seconds last week before deleting it.
There are some games where you just know right off the bat that it's not for you.
yea seriously, all i got was a dumbed down version of a game that isn't even good (rock band unplugged w/5 songs).
Instead of giving us a free game why don't you crack down on the developers that are releasing broken games on the psn. (Konami & R*.) I can't even play Silent Hill 0rigins because the cut scenes are all cut short.
I like my pspgo but it is getting some half a**ed treatment.
I know the podcast you're talking about and I loved it cause I felt that it voiced a lot of complaints that many people had.
With the online component not being able to work. I'll take an example from a platformer similar to mario, Little Big Planet. That game revolves around it's online community. So much to the point that the developers have gone on the record and said that they won't make a sequel because they don't want to divide the community. Mario could work online and be ...
I haven't watched tv on a regular basis in over 6 years. It's nothing but crap and the few things that interest me can be streamed online.
