Absolutely agree Harry. Talk about the fox and the sour grapes. What happened to loss with dignity. Yeah, winning is so irrelevant they sunk almost a billion dollars into trying to win a victory that would shortly thereafter be irrelevant.
Want to know the definition of irrelevant? Toshiba and their worthless opinion.
Good luck with trying to get those digital downloads going. People want to use that 1080p TV they bought. What are they going to watch on that? Ho...
Madden and I talked about this. Games like Uncharted were quietly blocked from Game of the Year nominations as were nominations for games like Heavenly Sword. And it still didn't help. People like Round Peg were warned though.
A representative of Microsoft told Shacknews that, "It is premature to speculate about Blu-ray but we do know from market data that HD movie playback is not a primary purchase driver for consumers buying video game consoles."
The representative added, "It continues to be games that drive purchase and that has consistently been a str...
Microsoft indicates no external BR Drive. The same people making up the MS rumors are the same people that said HD DVD would win, the same people that said Toshiba wasn't quitting.
Update: A representative of Microsoft told Shacknews that, "It is premature to speculate about Blu-ray but we do know from market data that HD movie playback is not a primary purch...

Won't impact sales? Are they high? Do they not realize the millions of people that have been fence sitting waiting on a winner to emerge? Surprise! Someone in the press is an idiot.
I love ignorant comments. Especially the one at the site in this story.
"This would be a good add on for people that don't have a blu ray player already and don't want to send a couple hundred dollars."
What an idiot. Does this moron really believe a Bluray external drive would be less than $200. I would be lucky to make it in at $299. The sheer stupidity of some people is amazing.
What kind of dope is your favorite? Do you smoke a lot or only before you post here?
I say that because you must be on drugs if you think MS could offer a Bluray player for $150. Keeping toking away my friend. You have obviously burned a lot of brain cells.
And to all the other people that think you will get a cheap Bluray add on for the 360 - ha ha, good luck with that pipe dream. Now you know why they call it dope.
You had better check again. Sony is one of the main patent holders of Bluray technology. While you can buy blank Bluray disks and print what you like, production of players means lcensing patented technology.
This how companies are protected that paid for all of the Research and Development. They reap the profits bought by licensing. It keeps cheap companies from waiting until all the work is done and swooping in to get a free ride.
No you haven't. You have over 1700 posts on this site and you haven't been saying anything like that for months. Nice try to slide to the middle. What's next, your 'uncle' gives you a PS3?
The thing to consider is the magnitude off stupidity in this story. Who was the contribu....never mind.
Has anyone considered that even if MS went this direction, do you really think they would mention it now and risk not being able to offload a few million external HD DVD driv...
The reason 360 games seem to be dulling this year is they are not the only kid on the block now. They actually have to stand under the harsh light of comparison.
Game technology is beginning to show you the 360 wasn't built to evolve. I love all of these suckheads that said Bluray wasn't necessary, wouldn't win are now suddenly in the Bluray camp. Don't worry, we can still smell you for what you are.
These same people will soon be moving to the PS3 camp as well.

Wrong Bladestump. It doesn't become public domain. The right to produce disks becomes public domain but the right to make players requires licensing of the technology. Microsoft will have to license the technology. You need to refrain from posting until you know what you are talking about.
