I'd say a good chunk of the PS4 base play all kinds of games. Shadow of the Colossus, The Last Guardian, HZD, GOW, Spider-Man, Gravity Rush 2, Nier, Persona 5, DS, Days Gone and so on. Sure some of those games sold more than others but when I think of PS4 players I don't just think of COD. It's why so many of us supported it this gen. There's literally something for everyone!
Control is awesome! I love the clean environments and the eeriness of it. Gives me an X-Files vibe. Concrete Genie is great as well. Such a great game for a bargain price!
Not a surprise because Shenmue wasn't as popular as some games back then. I mean the Dreamcast wasn't experienced by nearly enough gamers back then. Like 9.13 million isn't setting the world on fire. A console really ahead of its time!

PlayStation has some killer deals for Black Friday this year! PS4 with HZD, GOW and TLOU, now that's how you do a bundle and for $199.00 no less. Also that PSVR bundle is killer as well. I may get that for the kids so they'll have one!

I think the main issue is people just don't have patience anymore. Not all but enough because everything is just a download or click away. I'd say the opposite. I don't think we'll see article after article bashing this game like DS. What's funny is there's way more positive reviews than negative by a very large margin and by all accounts it's be a success in spite of the propaganda.

I've given Ubi my share of shit but I really enjoyed Origins and Odyssey. Still haven't finished Odyssey and sure it doesn't reinvent anything but I've had fun playing them much like Days Gone.
I want to play Gods and Monsters and Legion. Will it be their best year? I have no idea but I imagine I'll have fun playing the games!
