I love the little details like how Sam's foot actually moves depending on what he's stepping on. I love the little animations he has as well.
I get some don't like hitting rocks but what happens when we run over rocks in a vehicle or try running through them? We tear our vehicles up and/or fall down lol.
I'm about 60 hours in and I'm still having fun. It's strange because initially I was excited to see what Kojima would do on his own and if I'm honest I wasn't sure I'd be down with what DS wound up being (glad something different was being offered) but after spending so much time with it I must say I'm having a ball! I also like the tension that comes from dealing with BT's(sure you get equipment that helps but it's still a tense affair) planning routes and...
I see no issues with offering different experiences. Especially for those of us who were there when this series began. It's not for everybody, Hell what is. If you don't like it don't play it. Really there's so much we have to play we should all be pretty grateful gaming is where it is now!
Chefie I was as candid and as honest as I could be. This was my experience and if it was just my experience I could see the downplaying but it's not exclusive to me, no the numbers prove this. If you guys really want to have a conversation that would be very welcome but to just lump everyone who has issue with M$ as having no baring and they are just "fanboys" is doing no one any favors. Also telling someone what they genuinely feel "bullshit" probably isn't the b...
Hey Chiefie OG Xbox was never gonna get them a good return because of manufacturing costs and not being an established brand. But that doesn't mean the games were shit! I mean how many has the One sold?!?! We don't know but at this juncture it not good because they've been in the game for almost two decades and to still be struggling is pretty telling! Also actually read the comments and maybe we could have a discussion!
Also way to prove my point as it pertains...
Remasters are just recoats of paint. Remakes are demolishing and then rebuilding!
Hey DogJosha because Sony allows devs to be as creative and imaginative as they want! They have the most talented Studios in the business. Sure things happen nothing is perfect but when the positives greatly outweigh the negatives it's just common sense! If I was a studio that was going to be acquired I'd go with Sony every time!
What about the people who were there day one for Xbox? Who were excited a new player stepped up and loved exclusives like Halo, Theif Deadly Shadows, KOTOR 1&2, Jade Empire, Strangers Wraith, Otogi 1&2, Splinter Cell series so on and so on, what about them? What about those who bought a 360 at launch only to wind up going through 3 360's with the same issues what about them? What about those people who saw a decline in quality and quantity of exclusives? What about those same fore...
First EA game I'm buying new in over a decade. Hopefully this will showcase to them there's money on the table. But Deadspace happened and was absolutely incredible, just incredible but once it made money EA couldn't help it and killed the franchise!
Hopefully history doesn't repeat itself and by the way bring Deadspace back!
I got my cousin and a coworker into gaming with TLOU. Now they've branched out but then they had no idea games were like that.
My dad isn't in to gaming but when he comes over he loves watching me play any of the Uncharteds, Detroit/Heavy Rain/Two Souls, TLOU, GOW and even HZD!
I was taken aback by the monetizations and lost a little excitement but this piece brought some back!
I just don't want them to go down the path so many have. Great studios on par with CDPR at their height and they've crashed and burned. I know that's a little dramatic but I just loved Witcher 2 and the jump to Wild Hunt was almost unbelievable and I want to keep experiencing the quality games they make.
Anyway what a ramble but I'm more ...
Like the "sold to customers " part! Congratulations Sony.
Speak for yourself because I'm having a ball! Absolutely love it and my main takeaway is that in an industry where very powerful companies chase fads it's refreshing to see others actually taking chances.
Kojima is on record before release that detractors would say "it's a walking simulator " and that's within their right (though it'd be taken more seriously if they'd actually played it) but for us who do get it it's an incredible exper...
Gangsta they did something and to me the main take away is that they didn't kill it( like some are prone to do) much like The Last Guardian and kept the IP alive.
After playing UD and the 1st episode of Man of Medan there's s stark contrast! So something has changed. It seems now that jump scares are what they are relying on.
Yeah I've been nervous since I heard Sony wasn't involved because these types of games are in their wheelhouse.
I must say the first episode is severely lacking. Such a letdown after how great UD was. Wish Sony hadn't have them do Rush of Blood and Hidden Agenda.
Really wanted to like this because I absolutely loved Until Dawn! But Man of Medan just isn't doing it for me. Maybe it'll get better but something is missing that made UD so good. Wonder what that is?!?!
Cool an actual game I haven't played!
Good point MrVux and really I should know this because of Bioware. That was a fall from grace I'd of swore in 07 wouldn't happen. Just sucks but the reason fans latch into dev houses like these is because they are like beacons of hope in a swirl of PR Double speak.
I see you constantly trying to downplay Xbox criticisms but what about the ones of us who we're there day one? What about the ones who loved the SP player games the Xbox and part of the 360 had?!?! What about the ones who spent their money for years buying their products?
Look I know there's a lot of toxicity and negativity but sometimes that criticism and anger is earned. I'm pissed at M$ and I've been pissed for almost a decade! It's gonna take a lot o...
Really great summary and I'm sure we all had those learning pains in the first few missions. I actually got so used to walking it took me a while to get used to driving and the good thing is the driving feels great!
