If you would read the actual article, all the listed bugs are extremely minor and most have to do with issues out of Dice's control, like MS c++ needing to be reinstalled, or driver updates, or issues with getting it to launch via steam (which isn't even supported as of yet)

This is easily the smoothest BF launch I've ever seen.

From the reviews I've read the issues seem to arise from the campaign. Pretty much every review has said that the MP has "raised the bar" "will probably be the best MP experience this year" etc etc.

TL:DR
Campaign - Not terrible, but didn't live up to the hype. A by the numbers experience.

Multiplayer -OH GOD OH FUCK OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD.

I think that's the reason that you see reviews like IGN an...

This is why I never pay attention to number or letter grades. They are always arbitrary and mean nothing.

What is there to agree with? They could have just not made the game for consoles, or you could be stuck with the non HD version. Why you would complain about having additional options is beyond me. You need to face the fact that consoles are fading technically and a game like BF3 is going to have to take some extra steps, like being installed on a hard drive, in order to get as best an experience as possible.

This doesn't make consoles bad, but at some point the age of th...

Its comparable to low settings, but some things will be better on consoles comparatively, Dice has said as much in other interviews. At any rate, I feel sorry for anyone playing this without the HD pack, the difference is pretty astounding.

I don't really get why so many people seem to have a problem with him saying that. Its a factual statement. PC hardware has grown far beyond the capabilities of the consoles current generation. Its just the price that is paid for being a closed system.

This wasn't a diss at consoles, it was a statement of fact.

The DLC model we have now is an issue. before the ease of digital distribution we got "DLC" in expansions, of which most of the time was worth the 20 -30 dollar buy in. But now, we get nickel and dimed instead of like on the old expansion model, we are in fact paying more for the same content. I do not think lot of people realize that since they are only spending 5 - 15.00 here and there.

exclusive pre-order content. This is the one that I hate more than anything e...

That keyboard is really terrible. They should have looked at manufacturers of similar devices like the n52te (pic attached)that is also outrageously expensive for what you get

Consoles will never have the capability of PCs simply by virtue of it being a closed platform.

@vyke4

Have you played GTA4 on a PC. when it launched it was an absolute friggin mess. horrible securerom, extremely buggy and constant crashes and graphical glitches. it was unplayable. GTA is a prime example of why developing for consoles and then moving it to PC can be terrible. There are also much more recent examples.

You picked a horrible example to make your point

I don't have a problem with this at all. I couldn't care less about the used game market.

I get what he is saying, and he has a valid point.

The same can be said for why a movie like Transformers does so well. Its big flashy and easily accessible.

WTB Air Superiority. I will even pay money for it in DLC if I have too. It was the best part of BF1943

DO the console version look worse than the PC? Of course. Does that by definition make the console graphics bad? No, it does not.

I've played the beta on PC and on PS3. while the difference is pretty obvious, it in no way means the ps3 version is bad looking. Its easily one of the better looking console games being made and the hi rez texture pack will make that even more true.

Obviously you will see comparisons. Especially with a game like this that pu...

Why did he type it in all caps? I'm not going to read that. But the argument is old. They want to apply some notion that this game is supposed to be realistic soldier simulation, when it obviously isn't. Battlefield is an arcade shooter. just because it has "bullet drop" and some of design elements that are based on the real thing doesn't make it a simulation.

he may have all this insight on weaponry and tactics, and he may be correct. except, wel...

Yep people need to understand this isn't a demo. This is a beta in every sense of the word. Some on the battlelog forums have even put it as old as four months. We just get the added benefit of seeing a little bit of the game before its released.
