@ Echo307:
So true! The reviewer inconstancy with what add/detracts points is getting ridiculous. It's like they already have their opinion based on how much they like the dev and their anticipation (hype) before playing the full game and then nitpick or ignore the exact same flaws based on how much they wanted to love the game and on developers previous record.
Some games surprise them but most are strongly affected by preconceived notions of what they ...
COD is like fast food: very popular, tastes ok, keeps you coming back but every time you eat it you kind of wish you hadn't and gotten a real meal instead because you're not really satisfied.
MW2's story was one of the worst SP I've played this gen and I've played a lot (BFBC2 being the worst). Besides being super short, the story was really bad, kinda convoluted, disjointed and absurd. Absolutely no character development at all and boring, Burger Town was the worst.
The environments had no style too, nothing came close to that smokey night time bridge scene in COD4, i felt like I was playing in a cardboard diorama made by an 14 year old - it just...
I wouldn't care it came to 360, Konami would have to pay extra for the 3-5 disks it would be on but Konami isn't a 1st party so I have no problems with it being a multiplat.
The MGS series is amazing and MGS4 is probably my fav game this gen - i'd love for more people to experience the greatness that is MGS.
It's one of the few games that does story telling really well and gets the player strongly emotionally invested with the characters. It&...
All it needs is the same Battlefield quality MP and more marketing to outsell BFBC2.
Reviewers can't be relied upon to reliably score games on their merits. One game will lose points for something while in another more hyped game with the same thing or worse will have it IGNored. IGN is the worst for that.
I think 3 person review teams should be standard, the whims of one guy makes sites seem so inconsistent.
Yeah the framerate really kills any claims to best graphics on consoles, the game is a bit choppy and not just when it get really low but because it is so variable too. Try walking slowly, you'll see the thing stutter - they should have just locked the framerate.
I actually think parts of Black Ops on 360 is more pleasing to the eye because it's so smooth.
I got on 360 and think it looks good but KZ3 and U2 are much cleaner, sharper, less jaggies, have less graphical glitches in general, better textures and most importantly have a better framerate -they're alot crisper and smoother.
I'm sure it will probably win best console graphics of the year but really it doesn't deserve it. It's too choppy and needs to look cleaner for lack of a better word.
I bought Crysis 2 today for 360 and KZ3 and U2 do look better by quite a bit. They're just sharper with a much crisper image, less jaggies and most importantly a better framerate.
Crysis 2 is a bit blurry and choppy, it still looks great but the graphics are WAY overhyped for some reason. It needs a better framerate and a cleaner image to be the console king.
Your right I played GOW3 3 times.
So I guess I only need an awesome SP.
If there's no MP I only need a 15+ SP that is good enough to replay.
Hacking is fine with me, hacking for the purpose of pirating is wrong.
I know but I kinda of want to go buy it now, I was leaning towards 360 based on what IGN said then I saw LOT and was like I should just wait for Digital Foundry, now I'm leaning towards the PS3 version.
I know they're essentially the same but I may as well get the one that is even only 1% better.
Gamespot has a deal where you get 50% more on all trade-in towards Crysis 2 in Canada which ends soon so I need to know ASAP.
There's so many conflicting reports on console graphics. IGN saying PS3 is significantly worse, Kotaku saying 360 suffers from texture issues and then LoT showing they're essentially the same.
I'm not sure which version to buy so this is just another FYI for people on the fence about getting the 360 or PS3 version like me.
I have to agree, the DS3 is the only thing I don't really like about PS3, it's alright but the the design is 15 years old.
Convex a bad idea and the triggers need more resistance and grip.
The DS3 is antiquated.
Nothing wrong with being white but Counter Strike is a troll.
@ ElementX : It's called a typo - happens all the time in forums. Quit with the intellectual masturbation.
@ HelghastDrake: Minus bubbles for trolling and the versions are essentially the same.
Well if they gave away 360 Slims publicly for positive press at E3 2010 (which worked because journalists couldn't stop praising Kinectimals!) who knows what certain sites are getting Fed-Ex'd to them around big releases.
I'm pretty sure MS has a better Press Package than Sony (for some reason that sounds sexual lol)
@ citan: No wonder 'journalists' love Live so much, they never have to pay for it like the rest of us.
Motion blur can definitely affect one character or object and not the whole screen.
Whatever helps you sleep at night anis56.
Video games just need more compelling stories and character to mature. Gamers want it too but we've gone backwards from the days of Half Life 2. Even Gears 1 was less juvenile than Gears 2.
The majority of game seems to have less plot depth of a saturday morning cartoon or something geared towards 12 year olds. A story doesn't need extremely mature themes to be good, it just needs some depth in plot and character - look at the batman game and movies, you really ju...
