I prefer western RPGs but I also much prefer linear stories.

I rather a 30hour great story than 200hrs of mediocre stories (Skyrim).

Vita and iPhones/iPads are in very different markets.

Core is the WoW, CODs, Halo's, AC, BFs, GTA, GTs, EA Sports, Gears, Uncharted, (to some extent) etc., core is the core of the market in terms of sales that aren't casual games, a.k.a, core is the mainstream. The most core games sell on 360.

Sadly, the core predominately care mostly about MP, established franchises and probably buy the 2-3 games a year - the yearly iteration of their fav shooters, sports games and and the odd open-world. The core is why there is so...

Which in terms of 3rd parties, AAA games have been painfully absent from Wii because it lacks the hardware power to pull it off.

It's true that you don't need power to sell consoles, but you do need it to advance gaming experiences, otherwise Nintendo wouldn't even need to release a more powerful Wii U.

Also, the majority of the best games this gen were 3rd party and not on Wii. Apparently, what is most important for a consoles success is marketi...

Street Fighter II Announcer Voice - "Final Round: FIGHT!"

The next-gen could be the gen to rule them all, who will come out on top as the absolute King of Consoles. I think Sony and Nintendo have both sold around 250-280 million homeconsoles worldwide in total, but:

Sony had 2 wins (PS1/PS2)
Nintendo had 2-3 wins (NES, SNES, and Wii according to Nintendo it's in a different market of its own)
And MS arguably won the core this ge...

time for next-gen, people are getting bored with current consoles.

That actually looked like a quality Spider Man game.

One's favourite games is all personal preference but I wouldn't call Twisted Metal a game people typically associate with AAA.

Doesn't matter though, a persons fav game could be a PSN title, f'what other people say.

That trailer actually did get me excited for the game, SO sick of shooters right now.

That was beautiful.

It's amazing that old game music made on extremely limited hardware can translate so well onto more appreciated instruments. If some one played this for a bunch of peopel who never heard the song, they'd be impressed.

Now do SFII Ken Stage.

Maybe because he has yet to make a AAA current-gen game.

If it's next-gen power - $400
If it's closer to this gen power - $300

I think exclusives are the most relevant within the first 2-3 years of a consoles life cycle.

First lesson, Wii U will be noticeably less powerful that PS4 and 720.

Wish they would take a loss on Wii U hardware so it can compete with PS4 and 720 then, they can definitely afford it.

It's totally possible IMO. The majority of non-casual gamers (COD, BF3, and Sports games fans) will just play their online MP on whatever device is offering the yearly iteration of their favourite franchise.

N4G gamers and people who visit game sites and read up on the industry and buy a large variety of games are a tiny fraction of total sales.

The demographic that buys the most games, loves playing them but doesn't really care about the industry th...

The lessor of two evils does not equal good.

I kinda wish gaming was a little less popular so the masses that buy the same games every year didn't control the industry.

5069d ago 1 agree1 disagreeView comment

I knew this was coming, and it won't just be EA.

Sadly, the majority of gamers buy only a 2-4 games a year and they consist of their yearly iteration of their favourite shooters and sports game and just log hundreds of hours into MP. They may try something new if it's hyped enough.

Of course publishers will charge for online, as so many gamers spent 90% of their time playing it.

EA is in a great position for subscriptions too, a ...
