You can't possibly have ever played let alone own a Kinect if you think the controls aren't extremely limited.

I consider myself a core gamer, the problem with Kinect isn't that it's a different way of controlling games, the problem is that is just doesn't work controlling core games.
Kinect tech is just too limited and unresponsive to control anything but the most basic control scheme.
It's sad how many parents buy their 10 year old kids COD.
I don't think people are all that bad, it's just that when they see a videogame they expect to kill something because every game that's not a sports or puzzle game, is basically just about killing stuff.
The emphasis on games is always on killing, not social interaction. The problem is the nature of video games more so than the players.
There are plenty of games I own that I think are 7/10 (although they've been rated 8-9/10). A 6/10 is probably too low for me to justify a purchase above $10.
I think the majority of game experiences that are rated 9/10 are really 7-8/10. A+ should be reserved for absolute greatness.
For example:
Skyrim 8/10 (story and fighting is lacking)
Resistance 3 6.5/10 (ok shooter)

If that's the case I become a PC gamer...mostly, my fav games are still a few console exclusives.

The AI in Reach on heroic and legendary is some of the best this gen imo, and I've played A LOT of FPS games this gen.

Everything on Live is way more expensive than on PSN outside of the US, which is probably why the rest of the world prefers PS3.
Then you're paying $2 too much for each movie. PSN HD new releases are $6 flat, the exact same HD movie on Live is $8.02.
In fact Live is the most expensive out of any rental service (and that's not including the $60 price of having access to the service), iTunes and the cable company are both $6 plus tax for the same movie. PSN is the cheapest because the tax is included in the 5.99 price.

The problem arises when you live with your girlfriend in my experience. Before we moved in together, I'd never play games around her because I felt I should be paying attention to her. But when I lived with her I had to basically play games when she wasn't home.
You're right, it is weird playing with some one who's not that interested watching.
The prospect of legitimate girl gamers is so attractive because if allows for the possibility of finding a woman who shares a major interest with you, instead of having her simply tolerate your gaming lifestyle (obsession) or maybe even not accepting it.
Nobody wants their GF complaining that you play too many videogames.
In my experience, core girl gamers are rare, good looking ones even more rare.
Unless the controls are terrible and the gameplay horrible, I doubt the game is a 3/10.
IGN needs to stop hiring temperamental man-child reviewers.
A professional would only give 3/10 ratings to the worst games.
