That's just not how it works. Neither Sony's nor Microsoft's gaming divisions have access to the full pool of net income of the consolidated company. I cannot get into it any more than that right now without going on for paragraphs regarding general financial statement accounting/analysis and corporate finance and governance.

Further, either company divesting their gaming divisions does NOT necessarily mean a bad thing.

If you miss him that much, just go check out his blog. It's as crazy as ever. I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I read it. I honestly just don't get what his deal is. I really don't. He clearly knows he's lying. I know he doesn't believe what he's typing. It's so strange.

Listen, I've told a girl at a bar that I like One Direction in order to go home with her... but this? This is just a different ballgame of BS.

Relax. You act as if it's a bad thing for MS to sell off the Xbox division. That's not necessarily true. Rather, it could be a great thing if the proper buyer pops up.

Frankly, the biggest issue with the XB1 is the marketing and management of the product. That primarily falls on MS' shoulders. A more "consumer-friendly" buyer could pick up the division and use a softer touch to pull in the lost market share.

If you want more detail, I ...

Yup, totally agree. I have my PS4 plugged into a gaming monitor and Astro A50 headset. XB1 is plugged into my TV.

PS4 for most of my gaming, XB1 for some exclusives and media.

Isn't that the way each wanted their console to come across to the consumer market?

They are a public company with many shareholders, not some fly-by-night private company that only answers to themselves.

While they are in a very good place, it only takes one misstep, especially in the retail world (see: Microsoft), to change that. I'm guessing the game was shit or it was over budget and still far away from release thus hitting passing over the wrong side of the economically viable threshold.

Sony owns the assets. So you're correct, it's not that simple. Possible? Yes.

It would require another studio/dev purchasing those assets from Sony. No studio would even try to recreate or "restart" it without ownership of those assets. The potential intellectual property infringement issues would be a huge liability.

Those guys are pretty smart over there. If it was cancelled, there's probably a very good reason. I honestly view it as a positive because there's nothing worse than a watered-down portfolio of games.

Obviously very unfortunate that there were layoffs. This isn't even on anyone's news radar without the layoff part of it. Games get cancelled all the time without any external parties being the wiser.

How do we know the game didn't just plain old suck? Remember, we're hearing from the developers how "unique" it was. Maybe it was just a crap idea that somehow got legs a while back.

The layoffs were unfortunate and that's the only reason this is news. Games get cancelled all the time.

He's an Xbox d-bag. Gotta love his handle though, right? Stealth trolling, it's good stuff.

You're exactly right. This is a complete under-deliver by MS. Xbox kiddies can stomp their feet all they want but this is indeed disappointing.

PS4 is having it's issues as well right now but they are all fixable. Fortunately, the hardware is up to par. The software/feature set will get there over time. Unfortunately for XB1, you can't magically upgrade the console hardware. SDKs and software improvements can only take you so far.

1080p native or upscaled? Bethesda studios didn't specify. Honest question.

Haha, dude, just stop. Look at your comment history. It's obvious you don't have and never will have a PS4. You're an Xbox guy. It's cool, no need to hide it or pretend that you're flipping from PS4 to XB1 for dramatic purposes.

It's more hyped up and popular because it releases in 2 weeks and it'll be a crushing blow to MS if it isn't a system seller. I will agree with you that nothing that we've seen from Titanfall looks that fun/innovative.

The Order won't release for 8 months or so. It's not a do-or-die IP for Sony.

I haven't seen those. Those are crazy!!! This game is going to be eye candy in every sense of the term.

4378d ago 3 agree0 disagreeView comment

Yeah, I know. Wishful thinking. In that case, I'll replace Phantom Pain with Watch_Dogs. A new IP sounds good to me.

Is that better?

Infamous, the order, destiny, the witcher, phantom pain for me.
