that's a very fair statement. Sony is rocking it this year, so glad I own a PS4.
I'm excited yet at the same time skeptical. Only time will tell. The last few installments have not been very good IMO, as someone who was really into the first two modern warfare games.
You are not wrong. I mean the way I look at it is like this. I LOVE the Xenosaga games. In fact, Xenosaga Episode III is one of my favorite games of all-time. Yet at the same time I wouldn't say it's one of the top games at all, it is so incredibly flawed. That's just how I look at things though.
Yeah you are not wrong I'm simply looking at it from a GOTY-worthy perspective.
maybe it's because I'm coming from the perspective of top-tier titles, or maybe it's because microsoft has literally nothing and that's affecting my perspective. There are a lot of good games coming out, but on this elite level I would say this year is not that exciting. Again, this is just my perspective. It depends on what you're looking for too. I love Splatoon 2, but I would never put it in the GOTY category. The only game I really really need to play right now is Nier...
@Nyxus I get what you're saying, but I just don't feel like most of those are GOTY-level games. Yes they are very good, but GOTY is on another level.
that's actually fair. Horizon was a great game, but this is labeled as an opinion piece and Horizon was an excellent game.
The lackluster part, honestly I just don't think very many really good games are coming out this year. it's been kinda bland. maybe because Microsoft only has an improved Xbox One coming out and that's IT. It's all Nintendo and Sony carrying the weight.
This game has everything. I wish there was more coming out this year, but, this is a once or twice in a lifetime kind of game to come out. Superb design. I have done so much and am still only at 18% completion.
Horizon is legit. That and Zelda can hold me all year
We're already like 3 years into this generation and honestly there's not a ton to show for it, though there are gems hidden away.
Graphics are only half the story. IMO art style trumps the number of pixels every time

I hope Microsoft has a good showing. I Just look at the list of games coming out this year for them that have been confirmed and its a little depressing. I love my xb1 but I just don't want to put the money down for a new console tbh.
those things drive me crazy. some are warranted but most are weak cash-ins.

I really hope this year picks up. we need it. horizon and zelda will hold me over, and hopefully red dead does come out, but i find myself playing older gen games more often than not.
My PS4 hasnt been touched in a while so I'm excited for their lineup this year. It should be a great year for gaming.
This surprises me. It will be interesting to see how successful it is in Japan.
Needs more content I agree but RE 7 being so n VR will be a huge test... the potential is there
Still though, I am very excited!!! And the narrative has so much potential to be absolutely gripping!
