I didn't even want to get into the 2 player PVE. There better be a co-op campaign, but I doubt it. To be honest scrap that aspect and let us do co-op campaign. I hated this in Battlefront (2015) as well. At this point it's just a cash cow for EA;

to me at least it just feels bland and kind of generic. instead of emulating the previous games, why not try to make something fresh and unique, yet also a little familiar? they fail at doing that miserably. Again we'll have to see re: the campaign, but this isn't a day 1 purchase for me and I'm cancelling my pre-order lol.

I know it's a step backwards doing this but I compare the campaign of Battlefront II on the PS2 and the multiplayer, and then I look at what we're getting and I just shake my head. I'm a huge Star Wars fan and when I heard EA got the exclusive rights to the games I felt we were in trouble. Then I see DICE is handling it and I think okay, this could be really good. But low and behold..it's just really disappointing.

I actually really really liked Strike, and while the space battles were cool, all other game modes had serious balancing issues IMO.

this saddens me too because this has so much potential. it's just the beta but things are not looking good. I miss the old games. :(

Yep. I really cannot fathom their strategy right now but something's going to change at the top.

I think the switch has the most consistent release schedule. They have a major AAA title every month (except for May I think), and their whole business model right now is superb. They clearly learned from the disaster that was the Wii U. I don't have ARMS though I've played it and it's so much fun. Splatoon is also still a relatively new IP and that and Mario Kart are sold out every time I go to Target. I even have a hard time finding Street Fighter. Mario + Rabbids seems to be se...

Wolfenstein II, Evil Within 2, and Mario could break into my top 5. There's still so much coming out but really I'm super excited for Evil Within 2; RE has become stale for me.

TP wasn't an "exclusive" but let's be honest, sales were overwhelmingly for the Wii and the game was fine tuned for the Wii, like BoTW for Switch. It's still a Nintendo exclusive, and has so much working in its favor. At least I never tried to say that it eclipsed four years worth of PS4 accomplishments and software lineup. That is a ridiculous assertion.

are there any other games coming out this year that you feel would change your top five? last year I was almost sure what my GOTY would be, but when it came down to it it ended up being Zero Time Dilemma. I love puzzle games and the narrative IMO (although not for some hardcore zero escape fans) was fantastic and I loved the non-linear storytelling. I will say though, I think so many outlets gave BoTW a pass on a lot of things they would never let pass on other games. It's still a great g...

I personally hate how people use metacritic as a defense, and I definitely do not do that, so I applaud you for that. Think for yourself. I'm a huge Zelda fan, I don't hide that; heck my site is "brought to you by guywazeldatatt"! I was initially disappointed with BOTW but it grew on me a ton as I put more and more time into it. NieR is amazing, I like Persona a lot. My GOTY last year was Zero Time Dilemma which people blasted me for, though I sent it to the creator of the s...

I love Nintendo but this is the first time (honestly) I have actually bought Nintendo games for a system other than Zelda. My Wii and Wii U were Zelda machines. My Switch though, it's so much more. And Sony has so many exclusives and their own VR hardware. I went with the 360 initially when ME was an exclusive, and I enjoyed the 360, but I went PS2 first to play FF and other games because GameCube was for me, again, a Zelda machine. I feel so much more variety from Nintendo right now and ...

I don't disagree with you and Nintendo still has more to come. PlayStation has a lot of really good content too though. Honestly if you can I'd own both a PS4 and Switch. Xbox is slowly dying until they can figure out wth they're doing. And I'll be honest at the end of the year my #2 may be Xenoblade 2 or Mario and several of those will be kicked off, as much as I love destiny haha.

I get accused of fanboy this fanboy that but when it comes down to it Sony had the best year as a whole. I still think Nintendo, since Switch’s launch, is killing it but looking at my top games this year it’s all ps4 exclusives

Honestly I can't wait for Battlefront so (hopefully) I can fit that in here somewhere as I am really excited for that game. Mario Odyssey too. So many great games.

Honestly I want to buy a PSVR just so I can play Doom in VR. That game is tight. Microsoft needs their own VR headset or really they're truly lost IMO, especially considering the power of the XB1 X

This is actually pretty cool. I mean, they don't shove it in your face but it's a wonderful nod to those in the community and I feel like it shows a certain amount of class on Bungie's part.
