The Blu-ray drives are on par, if not faster then DVD drives from both Wii and Xbox 360.
The issue is that architecturally, it takes a different approach to handling data, and in that, data is all read in a one sweep fashion.
The higher the speed a DVD and CD drive goes, the more errors, or "misses" in information gathering occurs.
This by no means makes Blu-ray the better format by far, it actually makes it pretty much a level field if yo...
