I tend to finish most of the games I start. If I never finish a game its usually because a.) I lost interest along the way or b.) I am too occupied with something else or another game to finish that "other" game I started.

'll say "One of.." because for it to be "the best" then it would be impossible for any game to come off as fun or enjoyable in comparison, and I simply cannot see it as such just because its Zelda. It is a good game from what I played so far on 3DS, so I can see why others may feel that way, but for me, I could never acknowledge any game as the undisputed victor.
Games are always coming out that are so much fun for me to think so. ^_^

I heavily disagree with the sonic bit in that its a beloved series because there are some great games in its lineup, and Sonic has been stepping it up since last year. We shouldn't shun that progress just because a few games gave us a bad taste in our mouths.
A game is good no matter what the age, and that goes for any game ever released, and not just Sonic or Zelda. If its fun, who cares when it came out, and the standards it holds in comparison to today's releases. ...
PS1 graphics?? lol, wut? What screenshots have you been looking at. THe DS is the one with PS1/64 graphics. The 3DS is more closer to the gamecube, with shader effects that make it look better.

I agree that games shouldn't be purchased solely on review scores. Its the experience that the gamer receives in gameplay that should be the ultimate deciding factor.
Buy games for how fun they are, not what number they are assigned to.
