I believe the reason it didn't take off is because of the respawn system. Impatient gamers just hated waiting for a rez or the next round. That coupled with the $60 price point and no campaign just killed it for many. Warhawk learned that no campaign = charge $20 less.
Sony listens to their fans and gives them what they want? I didn't want DREs on my PS2s, did want an extended warranty, didn't want a Bluray player on my games machine, did want games to run better on PS3 than 360, like Xbox did to PS2, didn't want a console that is so difficult to program for that I have to "wait till they figure it out in a couple of years" till there is a steady stream of good games to play. I could go on but I'm wasting my time with a fangirl like you.

Microsoft just took advantage of the publics willingness to put up with shoddy hardware to play great games. Something Sony proved was possible with the PS2. At least I didn't have to buy but one 360 (March '06) thanks to the three year warranty (RRoD June '07). Bought three PS2s in less than a year before I got one that didn't DRE on me. Go away little fangirl.
I bought four of them when they announced the "S" controller would be replacing it. Hated the jellybean buttons though. The first controller not to give me cramps. 360s is ok, just not as comfortable. Fact is the controller is the second biggest reason I don't have a PS3 yet. For my large hands the PS line of controllers are cramptastic! Anyone else interested in what it might have been like with that boomerang looking thing they showed. Anything would be better than what Sony is of...
What makes you think that will change? Every generation of Playstation has had its best/highest selling games come from third parties. Now that Sony has lost most of that exclusive third party support, they tout first party studios that put out pretty games with mediocre gameplay. Reminds me of rumble, third party support is so last generation.

My nephew asked me which console to buy. I told him to go to Blockbuster and look at the games on each system and choose based on what games you want to play. He came home with a 360 and said, "I only saw two games on PS3 that were not on 360 that I wanted to play and ten games on 360 that were not on PS3 so...."

I have not spent a red cent on either and change my theme and pic on a regular basis. If I found the PS3 to be a worthy purchase, I would use whatever wallpapers were available. I have never even posted a pic on here for crying out loud.
One example is Battlefield:BC. It's missing the conquest mode and had multiplayer problems at launch. I still can't access my stats to unlock some of the weapons for the "Find all five" crap, and they had time to do a demo? I'd rather have a finished game than a demo. I can always rent before I buy and get a feel for the entire, finished game. Apparently, from previous comments, I'm one of the few that feel this way.
