the user interface is more natural to non-gamers. Most people have swung a bat, tennis racquet, golf club, etc., and are comfortable with interacting with the game in that way. Whereas your standard controller takes more time and effort to understand and get comfortable with before the same level of control can be achieved.
So maybe they are confused and don't know how to review a, not an actual game, kind of game. Critical success/sales flop? We shall see.
