I just got back from my local Gamestation, they had the Vita with Wipeout 2048 and Reality Fighters installed!
After reading a lot about how big it is, I was suprised how small it is- seems about the size I remember my original PSP.
The OS is beautiful and runs super smooth as does Wipeout.
I had a race on the empire something or other track, really easy course won by over 7 seconds with 2/3 laps perfect- It was right at the start of the game...
This article is spot on. That is exactly how I feel about the game.
I get that some people love it and fair play to them, enjoy.
Old school Final Fantasy fans are what brought Square to this point though and we deserve a game too and we've been hanging for a long time.
My sister went this morning to Game in Exeter, aparently they've got consoles but no games just welcome park at the moment.
I'm going to go and give it a feel in a bit.
What a stupid article, on so many levels!
No tt wasn't because of bad devs it was because a lot graphics tasks needed to be offloaded to the cpu using a lot of assembly level programming to make the systems in the engines to do so. Assembly is a very low level language that most game programmers barely have to touch.
I don't disagree that it's not a stock PC part, but the gpu in a PS3 is not powerful, it never was- that was the whole point of having 7 spus on the CPU.
I agree with your se...
I'm not bothered- at least there will definately be one for me in time for release.
The last time I was this hyped for a portable was the GBA, so I'm extremely optimisitic about the Vita and champing at the bit to get my hands on mine.
Thats true but how much of the work gets done on the gpu?
Isn't that one of the main reason third party games ran poorly on PS3 in the earlier years?

Thanks for the tip I've heard of that one and seen a short teaser, but will have to look into it further.
Well that pretty much confirms my expectations for this game.
I guess I'll just have to keep waiting for my JRPG fix.
Nevermind, Mass Effect 3 in march. :)
An interesting idea- but would probably just cause too much fragmentation unless it was just like a crossfire setup that scales in such a way that one card allows for 720p and the second 1080p but same assets, effects etc on both.
That's really what PC's are for. :)
I hope it uses a better chip a 6670 is only gaming class by the skin of its teeth really.
Thats annoying if true, but I think going all download is too expensive anyway with memory prices.
I'm going to get carts unless its PSN only and just put PSP classics on memory card. I mean with 16gb card I think I'd be lucky to get 8-10 PSP games on it.
Besides call me sad but I like filling my bookshelf with game cases.
This is what I cam to say pretty much.
Contridictory (pardon the spelling) title.
If they manage to block used games, then they ought to be able to lower the price of new due to the extra revenue.
I'd happily give up used games for £29.99 and £19.99 price points for new games.
Although I must admit I am terrible for impulse buying games when they first come out anyway to the point I signed up for LoveFilm a couple of months ago to try and curb the spending habbit.
Playing Soul Calibur with touch controls is like playing a guitar with a brick, you could do it- but why would you want to?
95% of statistics are made up on the spot.
I also think arguments based on amount of games purchased is pointless unless it includes the average transaction value as I have 79 games on steam and I think I've played about 15 or so and the rest are fodder packed in bundles or Steam sale madness.
According to SteamCalculator.com my account is worth nearly $1200 I can assure you I've spent less than £100 on it, only two full-price games I can think o...
Looks pretty convincing.
February is going to rule.
Take your time, try and get it right.
I was expecting to love it and it exceeded my expectations in the flesh, so make of that what you will. :)
