One, the PC version looks way better and will run much smoother. Second, the PC is far more reliable and won't die halfway through the game due to some RROD issue. In the end, it is an RPG and RPG's are just plain better on the PC.

If you want BC in your console then find a 60 gig PS3 from the early days. I for one have one and to be honest, there are too many good new games available to even desire BC. It's the only talking point the Xbox fanboys have now and since the PS3 does everything else so well, it's a moot point.

To want to try and copy Sony in this area. Trust me when I say this, the 360 can barely stay alive for 6 months at a time let alone do 3D so don't get your hopes up. By the time 3D is mainstream, the 360 will be replaced with MS's new console so to even dream of the 360 being capable of what the PS3 is capable of is just silly fanboy thinking.
As far as I am concerned, the games luster was lost on the first one. It was new and exciting the first time around and the second one got too heavy handed to the point where I wanted to puke. Sorry, but I honestly don't care about the Gears story any more and if I never play the third one it won't bother me a bit. The only thing they regret is the sales they would have gotten off the PS3 so shame on them for being near sighted and stupid by getting into bed with MS.

PS3's die just like other consoles die but with fewer cases than the 360 and a touch more than the Wii. Sony's console sits right around the industry standard in failure rate so it's to be expected that some will brick.
