When you talk tenths of a second that could equate to 4 or 5 tenths which is a half second and add on top of that any lag introduced in online play and you have a recipe for disaster. Two things.
One, Sony will continue to sell better and eventually surpass Nintendo. They then will continue to sell well and become once again, the number one console for yet another generation.

And that is the beauty of the brand. Sony is a whole company consisting of many parts that rely on one another. One might struggle but there is always another part that will sit up and help out and in the end, they all come together and make Sony money and make for happy share holders. It's how every business runs, only difference is Sony releases quality products and not shoddy hardware that fails in the 33% range.

Regardless of the numbers, it is certain that Sony is closing the gap that MS had created by releasing a year early and that has got to have MS running scared. I remember when the Xbox camp was saying how it would take ten years plus for the PS3 to even catch up to the 360....I laughed then and I am laughing now. It will be one more year and they will be in third place.
What I have seen the PS3 produce is the best games this gen so far. Best graphics, most fun gameplay and the online is getting better and better each day that passes. If somebody were to actually do for the PS3 what GOWII did for the PS2 then you can kiss the competition goodbye. In the end, Sony made a future proof console, not so much for the others.
