That almost sounds like pride.
Is this is one of those times on N4g where two people have a decent conversation and agree to disagree? :)
Seriously, I will say that both GT and Forza have have drivers praise their respective physics, so I can't rely too heavily on that as a gauge. I can personally admit that I've never taken my own car and raced it on the same track and tires as it's GT4 brother, but I trust those that say they have and I'm glad that the times match up at that level.
In ...
Perhaps. I suppose we'll have to wait for GT5 to see, but I personally believe that the GT series is head and shoulders above Forza and Forza2 hasn't changed that for me.
The talk of damage modeling is fruitless for me, as real damage modeling would leave my car useless or very different from the original vehicle based on some of the crashes I've been part of in my history of both Forza and GT. This is not something most people want, seeing as how Nascar and F1 folks online ...
This is really an achievement, GT5P scored 3 points less than Forza2, that means Forza2 is now the new choice for racing gamers and enthusiasts around the world.
Look, you like Forza, others like Forza, but Forza isn't GT. You can't be the king without beating the king and unless Forza3 is going to come out this year with as much polish and love as GT games get, just admit that Forza is your favorite, but not the darling of the racing world. It's a good game, it's even a gre...
If Blu-ray takes off and there is a significant cash flow increase that could give Sony enough of a buffer to justify cutting the price this year. Factor in lower component costs, greater console /software sales, and I think Sony could drop the price later in the year to spur sales.
Think about it, even if only MGS/LBP/KZ2/MS2 all hit like Sony hopes, that would increase sales. Consider what increased blu-ray awareness due to increased marketing pushes for blu-ray products co...
That's a big stick.
When it rains, it pours.
@Genuine
Man Uncharted not having replay value is a total blatant lie, I don't know how anyone could go through that game and make the claim that it does. It has 1000 trophy points to get and they actually unlock extras. Unlimited ammo, special weapons, special Drake outfits, new rendering modes, super speed, slo mo, and more. The best replay boosting one of them all in my opinion is the mirrored world which doesn't sound like much but actually feels fresh on the subsequent pla...
Since you're so remarkably up-to-date with KZ2 news, no doubt you've caught wind of that real-time demonstration they did at E3 oh so many months ago? Yeah, it was kinda close to the pre-vis they did three years ago, and it still had a year of dev time left. I don't doubt they'll best what we've seen already.
On their site they also have a Mass Effect review, they gave that a 4. While it might be out of 5 stars, I doubt they think Mass Effect is anything less than a stellar game based on their final paragraph:
"Nitpicking? Well, you gotta pick something, and with Mass Effect there's only nits to pick; if a solid-but-unremarkable shooter (call it three stars, in itself) is the delivery vector for a role-playing experience this deep, this engrossing, then I'll put up with it - I...
While the text may seem damning, it's legitimate criticism and it's hardly bashing the game. If you check the score he gives it's a 3.5, out of 4. I'd say the reviewer really liked the game, but wishes it had more challenging puzzles. Sounds fair to me.
I'm going to assume your first language isn't English and spare you the corrections. That doesn't excuse the ignorance spewing from your post however. All of the platforms have great games, but by far Nintendo (both platforms) and Sony (all platforms) have much broader and more innovative games at this time. Even MS admits their library is too narrowly focused. To say that "BIOWARE/ubisoft/silicon knights/nintendo/seirra/valve& amp; quot; are the only devs that have pushed gaming bou...
I support your fanboyism!
Day of the Tentacle
Sam & Max
Leisure Suit Larry (he had his moments)
This game looks pretty awesome. If they nail the funny and the gameplay, we'll see if it's worth more than a few episodes.
I don't know if anyone from Rare has checked the release dates this year either, since VP:PA is shipping within a week of COD4.
I'm sure Activision is going to market it aggressively with accompanying MS branding all over it.
So much for Party Animals
To provide some actual facts here... Gran Turismo has been doing both night/wet races and city tracks along with their fantasy tracks and their real racetracks since GT1.
Clubman Stage Route 5
Seattle
Tokyo
China
Paris
Korea
New York
Citta di Aria
Monaco
I think I forgot one or two, but that's pretty substantial considering these tracks are well laid out and balanced for good racing (plus there are plenty of...
"Combine that with Cristmas, Mass Effect and all those other games that hits the 360 in combination with the already AAA games on 360 (exclusive ones, the PS3 only has one AAA and multiplatform which is Oblivion)."
Are you saying that the only worthwhile game for PS3 this year has been and will be Oblivion? Is that what the above snip of your post is really saying? That in 2007, the PS3 will go on record as having 1 AAA game, Oblivion, and that's it?
Do you think the 360 can make fans out of the European market? Headstart and FPS's aside, seriously, knowing that Europe is pretty much Sonyland and knowing that the PS2 still stands strong in most countries there, can the 360 prevail?
I don't know if it's possible, but I can't see it happening on any timetable shorter than 5 years. They have to undo all the work Sony has done, and then convince people that they're better than Sony is/was, all without losing to either Sony or...
I think his point was that from here til' 08 it's looking slim for 360 exclusives. With Uncharted and R&C coming out as the heavy hitters (so it seems) and a number of smaller titles to move the hype train along (EOJ, SOCOM, Wipeout(this year?), Folklore, HSG, Haze, hopefully UTIII, and various other PSN/PSEye games to come) that'll all add up to something more impressive than the 360 lineup.
Granted, the 360 still has PGR4, Mass Effect, Naruto, and Viva Pinata: Party Anim...
I've played the beta for months, even bought the full version and still play the upgrades. I can't wait for this to be complete and released officially.
