If we are to accept that fewer games with high polish is the way to go.....when does it stop?
Because EA are not morally driven to provide art....their in it for the money.

Though I do love them sequels too.....new ips are great! Or can be.
I think a publisher should denote what their budget is for helping their devs. And some of that should be for new ips.
I read that this win8 labtop will req. devs to build current existings apps from scratch to work with it.

Why would I (if I was a dev) want to bring my app to this device? Well...if it had a established user base then sure, because Apples app store is bloated and devs find it quite difficult to make money unless your uber enough to be on the front page so to speak.

I never found it boring. Certainly not as boring as the stellar borderlands.
I just think that the lack of a strong single villain made it feel less rewarding. And the ending was so meh...I can't even remember it.
But the graphics! To think that with a bit less popin...this would be the logical cod upgrade as cod runs on quake engine which is the grandfather of rages engine.

Changing outfits and hearing Nick (the dismembered head of a boyfriend) go "I wish I had a penis" deadpan.......really kills me! Lol
Game is awesome. It's funny, violent and sexy.
The game is meant more as a satire.
Though short....it's got tons of replay. You can't unlock everything in one go. Two endings too.
It's probably not a $60 game for most people, but it'll drop quick - @ $39.99 it's a steal!

Using the E3 example....why would I wanna watch the map in my smart touch pad or phone.....while watch game of thrones? I'm watching it because I'm WATCHING it!!! Stupid.

Intellectually I know this game is just one big dlc package. It feels like it. But, damn of I don't have tons of fun!
It's not as good as a fully dedicated rally game like dirt 3, but it's solid with good netcode and lots to do and easy to pick up.
Problem with casuals is they don't follow gaming.
They dabble. They may buy a few titles a year!
Hardcore gamers buy 2-4 games a month (averaging, my optimism. Lol)
Or let me put it this way - hardcore gamers WILL buy 2-4 games a month if finances permit.
So it boogles the mind how Nintendo thought that the casual sales could ever be sustainable. The gimmick of motion control is still fun Im sure. But the rush has long been over...
Please. For a change of pace....try googling "why WiiU is garbage" and you'll see that Nintendo really dropped the ball this time.

If a dev (which I've never heard or read) doesn't want to put in 10mins of programming to extend the potential life of a game before its traded in....well that's pretty stupid.

Laundry list of fail
-2 controllers =30fps on all three screens...that's IF the game was at a higher fps.
-30min post time in miiuneverse due to moderators checking for penises.
-2.5hrs to charge a gamepad...for only 3.5hrs of use.
-Iwata quoted ...not competing with Sony or MS because they have 6yrs on us. (online, infrastructure)

Yeah...under this climate, with dlc and streaming media, app games .....it's not about making hardware profit....it's about getting as many revenue streams (individual household consumers) as possible.
Notably, this is no different than the past. Except, you could count on hardcore buyers buying disc based games and often. But now, that's not enough. Whether its greed or costs forcing emerging markets to be profitable - Sony & MS will be looking to get in you...
I get the feeling that the race for market share is more important now than ever before. Think about all the dlc & streaming subs...nobody can afford to price their new console north of $300. Our economic climate won't support it and Sony took a bath this early gen.
I'll be shocked if it's more than $399
But....if WiiU with all the recent horror can come out at $279 like Amazon suggested for its current preorders....they might steal some mark...

MS are very clear, kinect, apps and streaming media is the future. Gaming isnt a priority.
Halo & gears. Forza & fable.....notice how each one of those represents a popular genre. MS figures they've got it all figured out. And they probably do.
But their end result is different than gamers.
Third party games will shore up the crumbli...
What we know, what is historical fact & what is Ninny's philosophy is that they are no longer in tune with gaming. They missed the memo about gaming growing up. Average gamer with disposable income...30's!!!
Casuals don't buy new system unless its got a hook that takes off with media.

1080p @60fps is the benchmark of next gen. Which isn't even a huge generational leap...but I bet even with PS4 & 360 it'll happen - but not locked. You'll have third party games fall from this on rare occasion. Especially early in release...when devs are still using the same modified-engines as now.

Max Payne 3 is a great game. But mp does feel unbalanced and the slow movement really grated many. Even though I think it was very close to reality....reality isn't what gamers want in shooters.
The unbalance come from the boosts and general mechanics. I always thought early I'm my mp gaming career lol, that balance was equal to everyone having the same toys. That applies to max, but the matchmaking will have lvl 40's playing lvl 1's. Fail
