I'm convinced that I can spot a MS plant every time I read a post stating the person will buy an xbone.
I'm not hating or trying to put down a 360 fan; yet I know any serious gamer would never buy a X1.
Friend of mine....long time friend. He's all about Apple....he's all about a future where say you come home from long hard day at work. Your home device reads your mood and dims lights, turns on one of your iTunes songs appropriate to your mood ....and a voice perhaps suggests the dinner you'd find most pleasing.
All based off of probed targeted marketing derived from devices such as Kinect.
I try to bring him back to reality.....that this dream...
Wouldn't MS just update its firmware? Canceling out kinect essentially ....at least it's communication to MS servers.
However, the entire point of the spybox is the massive revenue it would garner from targeted ads, via its metadata collection.
All the R&D, partnerships....they are all excited about spying on us with Kinect.
By the way.....this is the real reason MS left half of Europe off the launch of Xbone.

Seriously? I just got back from GS - they were rammed for last of us. First thing she says is "your not canceling your X1 are you?"
I told her she has be confused - I preordered ps4 days ago.
She's like oh...good, all her 22 X1 preorders are getting canceled it seemed. She said 12 of them were left taken.
I'm out of touch on just how these hackers worked their mojo this gen on 360. I jumped ship 4yrs ago.
But....I recall reading that jtaggers were able to hack 360 to the point where they could set up their own servers. Effectively cutting out LIVE completely.
Think that might happen to xbone? And with the humiliating crap MS has going on, proving they are willing to eat $hit...I willing to bet they'll be begging the NSA for assistance I getting all t...
I've mentioned this before. Many seem ok with supporting kickstarters for indies and products.
Here's an idea....why don't we start a kickstarter to buy ad space to counter MS?! Sure we'd go broke lol......but I think a little properly placed ads could really gain traction!
Imagine a sideboard at the nhl playoffs or a nfl 5 sec tv ad....calling to action a website that informs and gathers data and testimonies?
Still wont work....MS will ip check and match with MAC address on console. Part of the validation check is firmware checks. You know, so they can stop jtaggers.

There's a reason you haven't gotten a response for 5hrs. And it ain't because everyone agrees with you.
A companies success should be that the products they provide consumers - meets or exceeds consumers wants.
It should not then use that to force a agenda that is antithesis to the wants of said consumers.
Business don't have morals....but they do have ethics. And MS ethics for as long as they have existed has been questionable at best; outright anti-consumer at their worst.
You have to wonder of MS shareholders really want to support MS....or they're just playing the wait n see game?
I can't ever recall a gaming catasyrophy of MS magnitude in my 30yrs of console gaming!
Even the big gaming collapse in early 80's wasn't this epically messed up!
I liked it tons. Plat is pretty easy too.
I find it interesting that no one - especially non-MS can tell me a consumer, why a online validation check makes my gaming better.
So here's the only thing I can think of :
Validation checks allow MS to check the firmware and see if the console has been modified - which leads to hackers and bad online experiences.
So how do you spell that out to consumers in an easy to understand blurb?
