That's just not true. First of all ALWAYS-ON MEANS ALWAYS-ON. The XBox 360 isn't designed to be always-on as it doesn't have a low-power or "sleep mode". If you are stupid enough to have your Xbox 360 on 24/7, well, you're stupid.

It's always been about exclusive games though. The next XBox could be weak as hell but people will still buy it because its the only place to play Halo.
Windows OS is a memory hog. Having that on a console would be a mistake IMO. Best to create an original OS that is suited for a controller.
The only way I can see Windows 8 OS working on an Xbox is if they use Kinect to nagivage it. That would get tiresome.
