Consoles are supposed to mainly be gaming machines. I don't need a bunch of apps on it, except big ones such as Netflix and Hulu. Nothing else is really necessary. Apps aren't a selling point for consoles. A pizza hut app is pointless, Microsoft.
Men prefer PS4 because they are smart enough to not be loyal to a corporation.
Kids aren't very smart so they tend to go with what they think is popular. At the moment Xbox has the bigger brand name.
The Xbox One is so much further behind in terms of final silicon it's not even funny. I fully expect to see glitchy Xbox One games and low console supply for the first few months.

PS4 specs aren't just better on paper, expect real world advantage as well. This isn't another case of PS3 vs 360, these next-gen consoles are so similar that taking advantage of the PS4s extra power will be easy. This isn't another Cell-type situation. Far Far from it.
These are the early adopters. Even the Wii U sold well at launch.
