Games needs to be stored locally so they can be played or there will be a shit-ton of lag. Xbox One doesn't offer Cloud Gaming.
This "unlimited cloud storage" is just that. Storage. You can't play games from there until you download them to your local, non-replaceable HDD. So much for "unlimited hard drive".

Consoles can't just have barebones multimedia functions these days. Apps and multitasking are standard on smartphones. Would you really want a PS4 that only plays games and has a slow unreponsive OS like the PS3?
I don't. I want both proper games and multimedia support. PS4 offers this. I am not a "hardcorez gamer". I watch TV. I watch movies. I use Netflix.

I never claimed Sony does better software than Microsoft. Never. I basically said with this OS footprint, they are in a much better position to be competitive in this area.

The one thing that Xbox One supposedly was supposed to excel in was in multitasking and OS. It seems PS4 will match if not exceed it now.
Most likely multitasking. The consoles seem to be designed to have multiple apps open at the same time, maybe even permanently without slowing down the system.

Not gonna lie, I am disappointed by this news but it doesn't really matter that much. The Xbox One would have held back games from truly using that PS4 RAM. Also in this way Sony avoids the same issues the PS3 faced which was slow, clumsy XMB.
I'm over it. Bring on the games. Bring on the fast, responsive OS and multitasking between apps. I'm ready!

To me it just seems like it is Call of Duty with Mechs. Yeah, it looks great but COD will no doubt have the best post-launch support and the bigger community. Then there's the fact Titanfall isn't coming to PS3 or PS4. The choice has been made for me.
