That's a great question..I will start with what I don't think is essential in a Zelda game. And that is excessive story (but that is gripe I have with many modern games)A good Zelda game, to me is one that gives the player the feeling of growth, and accomplishment. And in some instances, isolation.
Also, I feel that we as the player should have choices. We shouldn't have a linear path, much like the NES Zelda, you weren't told to go any where, the choice was...
LoL, and if tech and other 'features' really mattered, both HD consoles wouldn't have gotten their asses handed to them by such an underpowered, gaming only machine.
You as well as many others can try and marginalize the Wii and its success all you want but there comes a point where that just starts to look like you're reaching and its actually quite pathetic.
It could be argued that this gen, the Wii is the only console that has mattered....
Yeah, OK. Wii's are flying off the shevles WW right now. Move...well who the hell cares abuot Move?
Don't know why people can't seem to grasp this. Look at how the DS was released in what? 2004-5? Wii didn't come out until a year or 2 after that.
Wii continues to sell more consoles then the other guys and Nintendo is swimming in the green stuff, especially in an economic climate that is extremely treacherous right now.
The majority of people don't even care about graphics, otherwise PS3 would be selling like the Wii. Its just like the ...
Who still gives a damn what IGN thinks?
This is one of the dumbest things I've ever read. Wii sold more this black friday then last years black friday. The lineup is filled with more than the so called 'casual games'
And Wii continues to trounce the competition.
Just because you want to parot a certain narative doesn't make it true. I could claim the world is flat at the top of my lungs, doesn't mean it is. I could even be like chicken little and scream the sky is falling,...
These slants and all always pop up after Nintendo touts positive sales numbers for Wii. Its like the gaming media and industry create the parameters , and sets the dialogue, and once the Wii does the opposite of what 'they' want it to, which is die, they have to find a way to marginalize its success.
Its sad, and at this point just pathetic. The Wii's been off the hook as of late, any way. With DKC, and GoldenEye, I'm a happy gamer.
So pie...
Now this is funny! I knew butthurt fanboys would try to slant this negatively in some way, I thought they'd be more clever than this though.
But the sad thing is that Wii sales actually topped last years BF sales by 50k..And on top of that, if these Wii sales are bad, I wonder what he'll call 360 and PS3's numbers..if they release em.
Absolutely pathetic.
Awesome Game.
Damn right.
Because you are a not a gamer.
Exactly, easily the best fps on the Wii and one of the best fps' this gen. The singplayer campaign is as you said, epic. And the stealth tactics are well implemented.
I really don't know what else to say, but it does seem to me that some folks are upset the game is exclusive to Wii. Which is hilarious.
But part of the reason why I'm scarce around here as of late is because of nonsense like this review, as well as ridiculous comments trying to ...
You kidding me?
You bit the bullet huh? I must be a slow player because the singleplayer on the Operative difficulty took me closer to 10 hrs than 6. And then with the higher difficulty comes more objectives to complete, which really adds to the experience.
The choise of stealth, instead of guns-a-blazin' also adds a dimension not utilized with other modern fps'. I'm really loving it.
I've only gone online once but it was buttery smooth. I just got my as...
Bought GE the other day and have been loving it ever since. You hear this is the best FPS on Wii but its one of the best FPS' this gen. The singleplayer campaign shits on every single player campaign HD consoles included, period.
The stealth, the objectives, its awesome. Then online is a blast too. When I get time I'll PM my fc. Hope alls well, friend.
Also, DKC is looking like it will probably be game of the year..easily. Retro is the truth.
Case in point.
This little news bit won't receive much attention, me thinks.
And the attention it does get will be to marginalze it.
So not much has changed here I see. The title itself is BS. The way it works is, since Wii is the platform and EA is the software maker, the title should read more along the lines of "EA's Sales Continue to Plummet on Wii"
And then we could all discuss why this is. I think the answers pretty obvious. EA's Sales are plummetting on every platform this gen. Yearly sports titles, big budget mediocre titles, copy cat fps's. I mean the list goes on and on.
...
Wii sells based upon game releases, the junior PC's sell based upon remodels and price drops.
Historically Wii is selling in accordance to the 'rules' or past precedents of consoles of the past.
When games come out that gamers want to play, beyond the current base find appealing, that's when Wii sales will pick up again.
Expect DKC Returns to be that game.
Hope not.
