MS will come out swinging with inbuilt kinect 2.0 everywhere. it is pretty obvious they are focusing their efforts where the money is and the casual market is much larger than the core market.
they do have to be very careful next gen and learn something from the wii. casual gamers are not long term game buyers. publishers will also go where the money is so you will get less core and more shovelware if the install base is swayed towards casual.
i switched to...
@gamingchild - fanboys write M$. you comment means nothing if you write M$ because it get delegated to the troll section of readers minds and screams I AM 12 YEARS OLD.
i actually thought it was a decent article addressing a lot of 360 gamers' concerns. the fact is kinect does NOT do what it promises in the marketing wank and my preferred console choice is following a path i have no interest in. if the only exclusives available next gen are kinect and halo i might just look elsewhere. with in-built kinect next gen MS have to be very careful about alienating their core gamers who have no interest in it. their initial marketing push will determine whether ...
the problem i have is they have focused too hard on their kinect "beta" and have neglected their core gamers. kinect is rubbish for core gamers and doesn't do what is promised. sure kinect 2.0 will be much better but will the same disappointed kinect gamers even want it. kinect is where the wii was a couple of years ago, lots of hardware out there but no one really buying the games. it reached this point quicker because of the wii IMO.
this is what happens when...
just make a game that has more options and more freedom. if it is worth it i will play the game again. a good example (even though they are MP games haha) i played bad company 1 SP through 5 times and bad company 2 not even 1. one was semi open with options to do what you want and one was a linear CoD wannabe.
if you make the game original and engaging instead of just copying another successful game people will replay it because most genres are just full of unoriginal crap. ...
your loss, seriously. you will not find a better online experience. it is an absolute blast to play with mates (pun ignored), one i have never been able to replicate with any other series
the option to play on DICE servers is a must. the option to play on rented servers should have always been that, an option. i'll will be checking when i get home as last night there were zero DICE servers avail in Oz.
it is still fun to play on higher ticket games every once in a while though, or different game modes.
non of what you just wrote is true for me. i have never had a single problem playing with friends but then i'm on a 360 so I am already in a party with them. 7 days worth of MP gametime says you are full of shit. i noticed you didnt say anything about actual gameplay, just petty things you have read in blogs.
Sucitta obviously is just not a fan of arcade shooters, like me. CoD bores the crap out of me.
however if we are talking single player, they both s...
don't really want to pay the MS price. Every game in Oz would be $100 if they had their way. goodbye clearance sales and bargain bins.
otherwise i don't care. the old school in me likes physical discs but the sloth in me likes my ass on my couch too much
this is not my list that is for sure. i would bet it is no one else's list either. toorak? doom64? Resistance? doubt it
it is all relative. $1B is a lot to a company worth $2B but not to MS. their lack of foresight re: mobile OS has cost them more than this.
it is probably a cricket reference.
there was one?
i will not be buy either. they are both cash cows now, especially CoD.
i'm sorry but are these in regards to sales? bacause CoD is not even close in gameplay unless you like linear hand holding interactive movie style fps and dumbed down multiplayer. i take it this guy doesn't actually play many games.
even as an opinion piece this list is a complete joke.
sounds like you need your hand held for the quests. i am enjoying the fact that i have to find things myself for a change instead of go here, do this, go there do that. reminds me of the old sierra adventure games where you just had to find it yourself. drives you nuts but is infinitely more rewarding when you find what you are looking for without the game showing you where it is.
everyone wants a subscription service these days. if they are planning on releasing new consoles every 2 years it may have a chance but otherwise FAIL
BC1 was infinitely better than your 'revolutionary' CoD4. Single player was semi-open world where you actually had a choice in what to do instead of having your hand held the ENTIRE time.
CoD4 was a classic example of fooling the player into thinking he is actually playing an intense military shooter instead of an arcade shooter. i found it the same boring linear game the previous ones were just in a modern setting. just an interactive movie. 1 good sniper level does...
different games. it is like comparing forza to need for speed. CoD is marketed towards the biggest consumer category, the casual gamer, BF will never outsell a game that excels in that category.
good sale. they need to do this more often
