To be honest.....I want the casuals on board. The more consoles and software sold the more likely I am to get the games I want because some lost profit isn't as big of a deal. Makes investing in some of the obscure titles easier for the companies to swallow when financial targets are already being met.

The Wii was obviously a machine made for anyone/everyone but I have 15-20 games that I love and many of them probably don't see my machine if it sells 35 million ins...

Bought it a year ago and thought it was well worth what I paid. Just getting better at this point.

Hope Nintendo keeps pumping out the games and content for what looks like a good end of 2014 and all of 2015

Major 3rd party support is sad but other then sports.....I have way too much to play as is.....at least for me.

Are you suggesting Sony isn't being entirely truthful to help hype up it's products?

This again.....really. Mercedes produced a cool commercial for Japan using Mario. In exchange Nintendo is offering FREE DLC for Mario Kart 8. It's called cross promotion. 2 of the cars available are copies of karts in Mario Kart Wii just with a logo on it. It's not mandatory. It isn't a super kart that will allow you to dominate online. What it is, is good marketing...something most of us have complained Nintendo hasn't done a good job of.

What really annoys me is that ZombiU was basically the 3rd different game they developed when working on their Wii U launch title. Still it sold over 700K (according to unreliable sources). So how much did it really cost to make the game vs how much they spent developing all 3?

Still managed to up it another 5K over a good week before. I thought it had a chance to get it over the 20K mark but it didn't quite make it.

It will be interesting to see what an average sales week becomes though with Bayonetta 2 and Fatal Frame release soon in Japan as well.

A thoughtful dedication doesn't need to be revealed now and it doesn't need to mean anything to anyone other then Nintendo and the Williams' Family. I'm sure Nintendo will find a way to honor his memory when they feel the time is right.

For now continued prayers for the family. No matter who you are this is an agonizing thing to have to go through.

Well.....since I only have a Wii U this generation and don't plan on purchasing another I guess I don't have to worry about anything Ubisoft does at this point.

Honestly though.....Unity will sell well and they will probably make a lot of money off microtransactions so we should all expect this to become the norm.

One is $59.99 and you can get a physical copy cheaper or if you don't already have a Wii U then the bundle is a nice option. The other is $0.49 worth of train wreck...that is being updated and worked on by the developer....and is worth it to most just to see how bad it is and in the hopes that maybe someday it will be upgraded enough to make it worth $0.49 of gaming.

Since the release of MK8 the Wii U seems to be finding it's stride. With Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta, and Fatal Frame releasing in the next 2 months it looks like Wii U will continue to sell well in Japan. I wonder how many weeks in a row the Wii U can keep its self above the 10K mark in Japan?

What are you debating, sell your phone, buy a new one for $600 and transfer it to your contract and pocket $600 bucks

It definitely is a 2 way street and has been since N64 really and to an extent SNES. As a Nintendo fan you do miss out on some great 3rd party content or you get lesser versions and it's been that way for some time.

It really is a chicken and egg scenario IMO though. Both sides can be argued pretty easily.

I think there is a little bit of truth to what he is saying but it isn't as much about being anti Nintendo as it is about being pro profit. The average player, not someone on this site, probably buys 2-4 full price retail games a year. If the 4 best games on Wii U each year are made and published by Nintendo then that doesn't leave a lot of room for 3rd party sales.

Also let's not insult MS or Sony fans by saying they will buy any old crappy game. We all make a...

-Foxtrot - I actually prefer the feel of the gamepad over the pro controller. I think a lot of people look at it and assume it is a bad controller to use but at least for me it works great. My pro controller rarely gets used.

If I'm Sony then I'm not worried (at least about my gaming division) because I'm getting great sales world wide. IMO the only console that seems to have a chance at repeating last generations sales. There are franchises coming that we know will help push the system in Japan. They may not sell more consoles in Japan then Nintendo but it doesn't really matter.

If I'm Nintendo then I'm going to champion the fact that I'm selling well in the Japanes...

Pretty simple. 3.6 is goal. 0.5 is current number. Avg sales per week have been around 60K in July. To be conservative lets say Wii U sells 50K world wide every week from July till end of November (20 weeks). That's another 1 mill sold. Last year Wii U sold roughly 1.2 mill from Thanksgiving through Christmas. Again being conservative we will stick with that number. We are at 2.7 mill with 13 weeks to go. Another 50 K per week gets us to about 3.4 mill.

Can Nintendo'...

Nintendo needs all the Wii U games it can get. Especially unique experiences like this. I'm guessing since they have a hand in it that localization should be around the corner.

I think it is pretty safe to assume Wii U will hit 9m around the end of 2014. Last year they sold around 1.5m in December. They are already around or over 7m. If sales continue as is they will be well with in reach of 9m come the holiday season. They might even make 10m by the end of 2014 if they do a good job marketing for the holiday season.

a Fire Emblem package of Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn would be nice and fairly simple I would think.

Always want new games 1st but there are some great older ones that many of us missed out on that would be great to have new versions of.

I know a lot of people who bought a 360 for Rockband / Guitar hero, sing star type games......last generation sales were definitely helped by casual gamers. I'd be shocked if we reach 260 million consoles sold.....150 million total is probably closer to what we will see come 2018
