People were expecting full on remakes. The boxart clearly says Remastered, but I guess most people don't know how to read, or at least don't have a dictionary to tell them the difference.
I don't have $100+ headphones, but the normal earphones I use work just fine. I was able to hear everything with it when I was playing the Destiny beta yesterday. The fact that it even works as a mic is even better. Will work wonders when me and my friend play Factions Mode in TLOUR.
Full retail games as Platinum rewards? Sony and Microsoft are also doing a Club Nintendo like service, with Sony Rewards and Bing Rewards respectively. Even better, the retail games can be $60 games that just came out, and if you have a huge amount of points, you can even spend those points for a PS4 or Xbox One!

Sounded too good to be true anyways. Dude basically told us the whole story of the game and said the game ends with a blunt "Lolz this is only half the story. Go buy the next part coming in the next few years". We aren't even sure the game is even releasing in 2015, yet the story is already done with concrete details and everything.

A new COD for next gen, AND a brand new TPS from Bungie that's been getting positive hype from those who've played the alpha, which is also looking to be a huge blockbuster? DQIX and X and the various spin-offs were only on Nintendo hardware because they were dominating in Japan. DQX Wii U was an anomaly because they just ported over the Wii version with a much better resolution, and they probably thought the Wii U was gonna perform like the Wii sales wise.

I personally haven't had much problem with GameStop. I guess it just depends on the employees? This dude basically stopped making console games after The Last Odyssey. Maybe he's tired of making console games that take years of development because he's getting older, or maybe he just wants the quick mobile cash, or maybe he just wants someone to approach him to make a new console JRPG. Whatever it is, mobiles are still extremely limited, and consoles and PC are the only way to show off another giant and grand world.
JRPGs lately have been generic in terms of character design. I'm pretty sure you'll find plenty of characters from different games looking the same. You mentioned The Last Story. Look at the main character in the boxart. Looks exactly like Sasuke from Naruto and Noctis in FFXV.
I wouldn't mind if it releases somewhere between October-December 2015. Fans finally get a new Battlefront game after a decade, and Star Wars Episode VII finally comes out like a month or two later. It's going to do both game and movie a huge boost.
